He could if he retains the factory ECU and puts the RX-8's ESS and trigger wheel on his engine. I figured that out on my v6 swap. It was easier then I thought.

T4XJS - Did you ever get your indicators figured out?

Thumbs up

Removed the extra 5mm spacer from the box which I thought would help select 1st and reverse and lengthened the clutch pedal rod and hey presto...
Car drives great now, no clutch slip..
Lighting up rear tyres in 2nd 3rd gear..
track, drift test session next..

hahaha

if hacking and ******* a nice car up is talented, hmm, I don't know man, all I know is his car's value is now zero ---- that's just how it is, anybody with a garage, welding tools, some tools and money can do swaps, but it also means one can't do things the proper way.

if I want a garbage saab I will buy a garbage saab (no way in hell I would buy one), and boost it.

hey 16 yr old, you mad bro? oh man, that's great ! I like luv to see idiots get mad

Yes, it's 300bhp goes and drives lots better than it did with original rotory fitted, handles just as good but will need to get the corsa power steering fitted and more lock to lock, uprated clutch also required..
Well pleased...

Nice swap. Looks clean.
Can't say I'm a fan of the tail pipe location but meh what does it matter.

However for only 300 bhp this was a lot of work.

Yeah it was just the easy route for the exhaust at the moment..
The engine will handle 500bhp if required but not sure if the diff would handle that, but the gearbox certainly won't handle much more than 300.. remember that's approx 425NM torque..
Mind this has only cost me £1500 to build, that's including buying the RX8..

I just found this thread and must say well done to the op, not just for doing the work (pretty awesome BTW) but for continuing to post updates through all the flaming.
I bought an 2006 RX8 231 with a dead engine recently, initially with the intention of rebuilding the engine but after removing and dismantling it I discovered the tip seals on one rotor have disintegrated taking the rotor, front plate, rotor housing and middle plate with it.
Rebuilding this engine will cost close to £2000 (not that sensible as running 06 cars are around £2000 and it stands me £640 including having it delivered) and spare good engines are like hens teeth so i am now waying up the alternatives, and a different engine seems like a fun thing to do even if not that sensible. Breaking the car or scrapping it are the most sensible options but what a shame that would be
If anyone can suggest a way of keeping the rotary for less money I'd love to hear about it but in the mean time I am open to all options.

Yeah most rotory engines are junk mate..
you can get a rebuild kit for about £800.. or send it to specialist for £1200 if you fit it yourself..
This one is much better now than original, when you watch it going round a track with other rx8's it's night and day..
Just added a hybrid td04, green injectors etc ..see how it performs now..
Oh and this will last forever engine wise, will out last the chassis and shell no doubt..
Waiting to see if the rx9 will be a real engine or another failed rotory..
