Hi everyone,

I had my engine rebuild, car start but shut down after few minutes, no codes, good spark, good fuel pressure, I have no idea what can be the problem. Any advice? If you need more info let me know.

Have you driven it at all? A new rebuild often idles poorly for the first few hours until it beds in a bit and relearns the fuel trims. Also the plugs are often fouled from the assembly lube and need to burn off.

if it starts well you should be good....

 

to start I need to do the oil trick because the rear rotor has the seals stuck from the lube, but I put a weight on the throttle hold 4000rpm but after few minutes shut down, I’m bit scare to drive around the block whit this problem.

 

That doesn't sound like a healthy rebuild.

The seals shouldn't be stuck..and there should be more them enough compression to start it without resorting to trickery.

 

What does the rebuilder have to say about this?

 

he said if there are any problems he’s going to fix it, the new engine is also bridge and exhaust port. I drove it a bit but whit this problem I’m not really keen to go far from the workshop. Can be some sensor or something that I did wrong?

 

Ah. Have you tuned for the bridgeport? That's kind of important. Raise the idle speed, that should fix the immediate problem. Sounds like exactly what you should have expected: car starts cold at high idle rpm, warms up, rpms drop, Bridgeport causes engine to fail to idle at low rpm. The rebuilder should know this.

 

He told me to tune the car with MazdaEdit, I was waiting before buying the program to see if everything was fine, I wasn’t expecting this problem.
Any advice where can I get MazdaEdit? I found EPIFAN but no price at all.

If the ecu is not tuned for the port work you will never get the engine to run properly the guy that rebuilt the engine should have told you this in advance and got you set up with the proper tune or set you up with someone that will be able to tune it.

You're going to need at least 250 miles on the engine before you start to see good compression numbers. A stock engine should have no issues idling however.
