Rebuild.... wont start

i have gotten my rx8 rebuilt recently by a Rotary shop here in Atlanta. We are still have a hard time getting the engine to start. the only way she will start is if we put ATF in the housing to get it started. any ideas on why she wont start. we are using rotary aviation apex seals and mazdatrix side seals cut to fit.

P.S. i know nobody really gets on here anymore but doesnt hurt to try.

Well RA seals can be problematic but really it could be many things. Did the rebuilder install the engine as well?

Did you research them before deciding to use anything but aftermarket seals? RA seals are just known to be hit or miss, a lot of people have had trouble with them being very hard on housings and damaging them.

Mine was like that too at first. Eventually what I did was push start it and drive in circles in a parking lot. Around and around, keeping it around 3000-4000 rpm. Just keeping the car in gear and moving for about an hour straight was all it took.
