Expert Support Needed - Oil System

So, I had an oil cooler leak on my RX8 40th AE. Managed to get home, by the time all LH side of the car was pretty lubricated.
Changed the oil cooler, put it all back together. Filled system with 5L of Mazda original oil, crank it up aaaand fail.

Not sure why but the engine won't fire up as if it had no compression to start combustion. Tried lifting left and right to help oil flowing, tried in total 12 times 10s with the starter motor but no success.

Anyone has any idea of what could this be? The engine itself was running smoothly until this fail. So I assume it has something to do with the oil cooler change.

Prior to filling the oil did you drain the pan of the remaining old oil? How much came out? I had a very small leak at the oil cooler banjo bolts that just dripped which made a mess a few years back. Your oil cooler leaking can be very efficient at draining all of your oil in a short time.

Describe the oil leak event. Did the oil light come on? How long between the light coming on and getting home? Seconding the question about draining oil.

I didn't have to drain the oil pan because it was empty just by checking the stick. When removing the banjo bolts of the cooler also I had less than 1 L coming out of the lines.
About the leak, I noticed a small pool under the car before coming home but when got home a big pool formed underneath the car right under the LH oil cooler.

If most of the oil leaked out, and you drove it without adequate oil for necessary function, it's very likely that you killed it. Bearings and seals all need oil, and when the oil light starts flashing, that means "shut 'er down right now".

Did the oil light flash at any point? Did you lose oil pressure?

Does it turn but not fire up? Possible the ignition components, ESS or other sensitive areas got coated in oil and no longer work as expected. You mentioned the bottom of the car got a nice misting.

Found what the issue was, actually I got myself a flooded engine. Probably on trying to start up without oil.
Did the procedure and got it back up and running! Only issue now is I've got the engine light on and a weird vibration when transmission is engaged at 3k rpm.

have you done this precedure before? Does it take time to get back to normal?

Absence of oil by itself won't cause flooding, but if you started and stopped it, that would be it. Also indicates your ignition is less than great.

Once deflooded it should run like normal, scan for check engine codes to know what the problem is
