What do you mean by a clutchless transmission? All transmissions have some kind of clutch or coupling, even sequentials. There are specialty clutchless transes for dragsters, but I wouldn't take one to a street car. They're also usually worth more than most RX8s.

You can use the clutch to help you drift, you know. Kick it to start a drift and you don't need to shift as long as you hold it. What is actually preventing you from drifting?

You mean an automatic? The stock transmission should do a good enough job. Stick with the manual you'll be glad you did.
