I just got back from Cap, and of course they couldn't recreate the issue that I had. So, I will bring it in again on Monday, and I will leave a grocery list of things to check.

I posted badly before- I just meant check your stay damper if you were taking it in, so they could fix that too if they screwed it up during the recalls- they broke mine, and my glove compartment just dropped open instead of gently opening like it was supposed to.

Hows the fire going down there anyway? We can see the smoke from Innsbrook, but we can't get an idea of what's going on since the news people all seem very confused right now.

Well I snagged a complete set of RX8 seats from ebay for 55.00 and they showed up today. They still have that new car smell to them. Now to seal them up and wait a few years till there needed.
Rever I now have over 1K on the car.

Let me know if you find a new transmision. I think I might need it.

Dunno..but last night at the meet I had b***h of a time getting into reverse..After I did..I just came home cuz I was pissed.

I can't wait till Monday. I am going to make them take the tranny out and inspect it. Also while they have that out get them to check my clutch . Cuz, Speed Racer said that his issue was with the clutch.

So, we shall see next week.

Just out of curiousity, did you try going into a different gear and then reverse? Mine fights me sometimes, but if I hit 3rd first, it glides right into reverse.

I had the same problem with my brother's 90' Acura Integra. It woudln't shift into reverse if I put all of my weight into it. But if I shifted into 1st gear first and then reverse it would be ok. His owner's manual actually described the problem too, said if you have trouble shifting into reverse try shifting into 1st gear then reverse, or release the clutch halfway and try shifting into R. Never tried the latter but the former worked everytime. But then again the Integra was a 5-speed so it's different from the rx8.

Yeah, but I shouldn't have to do that. Plus, I never had to do it before so, they will just have to find out what is wrong and fix it.

Or I wil keep complaing and be a royal pain in their side untill I am satisfied.

Squeaky front brakes are just dirty pads. Also sometimes if you brake too hard too many times the rotor will have uneven surface where you will just need to do gradual/gentle braking for a while to get the pads seated with the rotor again.

Yeah, I think it is just dirty pads. But usualy if you complain about them they will replace them for you.

If they get that rattling fixed, let me know- they keep insisting they can't do anything about it. I'm about to take the damn door off myself and poke around in there.

I recently had my door creaking on me and fixed it by spraying some white lithium grease on the latch.

I wish it was that simple- it's rattling IN the door, whenever I've got any kind of bass in the music I've got turned on. I think there's a piece of foam in there, which is what other people have reported, but Capitol doesn't want to listen to me. It's better now that it's warmer, but still occasionally audible.

I finally got up the nerve to do it. I have a Wednesday appointment at Whitten for the following:

- Transmission damper recall
- Passenger airbag recall
- 8,000 mile service (I'm on Schedule #2)
- Change the transmission oil
- Change the rear differential oil
- Take a second whack at cleaning a stain on the passenger dash

This is always stressful event as I often get the car back with new problems requiring return trips. It drives me nuts!!!!!!!

The transmission/differential oil changes are gratuitous but I have a $50 coupon from Mazda USA (only good at Mazda dealerships) and the forum posts did make a good case for flushing out metal particles from the initial 5-6K miles of break-in.

Yeah, I took mine to the dealership and all they said was they didn't hear anything abnormal.

Dealership will only fix things that they can get warranty money from corporate otherwise they are pretty much doing it for free. Problems like rattling and squeaking noises, they rather not do anything about it.

Well, here is the verdict. Did a general maintaince check.. nothing wrong with breaks.

Transmision didn't act up on them so they didn't do anything to it.

Sound in passanger door, "ORDERD 1 NEW SPEAKER" speaker is blown caused rattleing.

Advised will be in 3-5 days.

Overal all satisfaction....not satisfied...
