Re-amemiya Automatic Rx8 Turbo

For those who can't read Japanese.. Japanese tuner RE-Amemiya and Greddy designed a turbo for an automatic RX8 that brings the HP up to 260.

Not that I want it for myself of course. I'm asking for a .... a freind .... yeah, that's the story, for a friend. Just so the information is out there for people who might be interested. Yeah. Like that.

Well if they made 62hp with the auto, I wonder if they have a 300hp manual in the works.

Turbo AT

According to their webpage, the price looks to be about 48,000 Yen. The exchange rate is 106 yen to the dollar so that would be around $450.00? Souinds pretty cheap for that much of an increase in HP.

Sweet, I want, I want, I want. i think I would change the filter first its just ugly. The price has to be way off or its just for some of the pieces not the complete package.

Can't wait to hear the full scoop.

Re: AT Turbo price

As far as the price, that is just a rough estimate (I am not a finance wizard). You would have to factor in the shipping and possible import tax, not to mention the price of having it installed. Remember that things are always cheaper in your own country.

im not so sure its that grifster......i don't think that Greddy could ever offer a turbo kit for $450.00 even without shipping, tax. the cheapest greddy kits retail from around $1500-2000 so $450 is out of the question. maybe for just the turbine!

hopefully greddy will offer it at a reasonable price, but for those of you looking for a $450 turbo kit, think again.

Maybe you meant $4500 instead of $450, that would sound more realistic.

I TALKED TO RE: AMEMIYA'S SHOP!

First I would like to say to all the people who PMED me about the AUTO-TURBO... It would take me too long to answer all of you individualy.

But, I just got off the phone with RE- AMEMIYA'S Shop. Here is the deal.

THEY ARE NOT SELLING THE AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL TURBO KITS YET!

Reason being, they are haveing problems with the ECU. In Japan there are 7 diffrent ECU configs for the RX8 and they have not worked out a setting that would map to all the diffrent variables.

When they do sell them, they will include, and INTAKE/TURBO KIT/AND INTERCOOLER...so they will be expensive. Oh, and they are GREDDY KITS.

They also let me know with their exhaust, and muffler combo they have seen a 20WHP increase.

I inquired onto how to easily get parts here in the U.S from Japan, and they advised me that they try to avoid DHL and FEDEX shipping due to the cost but they have a associate here STATE SIDE that can deliver and ship parts much cheaper. He gave me his name and cell number.

The best part is, the rep speaks ENGLISH!! So for all who are intrested in REAL RE-AMEMIYA TUNING PARTS please PM me I will get you the number.

My conversiation was about 15 minuites long..and all in Japanese..so I may be forgetting something that I talked about..I will post if I remember something cool.

Oh, and they said they have a USDM model there too so they can see the diffrences in tuning for each market.

EDIT- The number I have for the rep is a Japanese one, and he is currently in Japan at this time. I will give the full number to all who are intrested.
