9999-95-040G-04 RX-8 2004 Wiring Diagram $75

Try calling Cap Mazda. Also, Rosenthal Mazda sells them on-line at: http://www.finishlineperformance.com...intenance.html

I believe these are the "general" manuals. Canzoomer sells the 7 or 8 detailed manuals, like the Mazda Techs have, on his site.
I could scan them into .PDF format for you and you could hmm..."collect" dues for "membership" to "access" to the FSM.

Flywheel is here, clutch is here, I'm debating on swapping out all the clutch hydraulics before the clutch change for poo and giggles. Sorry I didn't make it out last friday, a friend came up from Norfolk that I haven't seen in a bit so we had to do the guy thing of bar adventures. Oo! There's an 8! Ooo! It's trying to pass me! It's Patrick!

I brought my 8 in because during all that rain i think the humidity was causing long (up to 10 seconds) starts. They flashed mine without me even asking at Cap Mazda.

Question: Do any of you have a problem with the seat warmer on the drivers side in the back of the seat? Mine keeps shifting around as I drive and during the winter it got so hot it almost burned me through a thick leather jacket. CapMazda ordered a part but they could not duplicate the issue. It is more annoying than anything else that while you are driving this thing poking in your back keeps moving around.

thanks,
Me

my neighbor has a titanium but it has the front air dam and spoiler kit on it. Looks good when we park them in front of the clinic.

Went to the Mazda dealership today and got my M Reflash.

I tell you, it added at least 50 HP, I now get 45 mgs around town, it reduced braking distance by 20 feet, caused the windows to become tinted, turned my hair back to dark brown and took three inches off my waist.....

Don't buy that? Well it did smooth the engine out something fierce. It is now a much smoother and easier car to drive. I did not expect such a noticable change. Matching speeds for gear shifts is so much cleaner. Revs are like silk going both up and down the range.

I think this is a lot closer the the engine we were originally supposed to get, even if the all the HP still isn't there. Combined with the RedLine MT-90 transmission oil I put in last weekend, this baby is awesome to drive (not that it was all that bad before).

Needless to say I am very impressed. Run (don't walk) to your nearest Mazda service dept and get this done!

I agree. No dramatic HP changes, but the engine is smooth as silk...and shifting is much better.

I do get 10 more miles out of each tank...wich isn't great but hey, I wil take what I can get. No question there.

Too bad I have to take mine back to the shop..they screwed up when they re-surfaced my rotars. I think when they did..some rotar chips got stuck in the break pads and is causing a screaching noise. I am just tired of rental cars...mabey I will just deal with it for a while.....

Nothing is ever simple. While I have been lucky with my 8 so far I still get indigestion everytime I pick up the car from service, wondering what else is broken or needs to be re-done.

You know that I picked up a used Honda CRV (100K miles) in January as a spare vehicle. It doesn't break and an idiot (even like me) can replace almost any part of the car without damaging anything else. "Maintainability" and reliability may be the biggest advangage the S2000 has over the RX-8. Not that the 8 is unreliable, but the car, service design and dealer service departments keep it from being "headache free".

ok, get this- I can't get my oil cap off. Neither can my husband. I tried to add oil this morning, because I'm down about half a quart, and we spent 20 minutes trying to get it off, with no luck. I don't know what they did when I brought it in last time, but it's completely stuck on there. Calling Capitol this afternoon to see if they can't get it off for me.

See my previous post to Rever. The car is just too easy for the mechanics to screw up.

You can tell that I am paranoid about service issues. I just went out to try it and my cap came off fine. I can't see how it would not come off unless they they didn't thread it on properly and then forced it anyway. Looks like the filler neck is plastic that could break if put under too much stress, so I wouldn't want to use too much pressure trying to get it off.

Good luck!

Bah

I dunno if I've bitched about this yet...

CEL light is back on.
M Reflash never got done.
Windshield still has a chip in it, that was there when I got the car (part not in yet).
I think I have the A/C cycling problem... mine gets humid for several seconds, about every 20-30 seconds or so.

And the best part... the car had 2 small chips in the paint when I took delivery. The dealership promised to fix them with "Official Mazda Velocity Red Paint" and I would supposedly never know they were there.

This week they tried. They subcontracted the paint work out, to some mobile dent and ding repair guy. When I go to pick up the car it's like they've used "color crayon" to fill in the chips. The stuff flakes right off when I rub it, and it's totally the wrong color.

Pitch a fit...salesman huddles with sales manager, who huddles with GM. They come back with: bring it back Monday for the CEL (and I'm going to force the flash issue) and they're going to refer the paint work out to an actual body shop.

Grumble. I just hate dealing with this crap. Why can't the A/C just work? Why can't cars download new flashes from the internet? Blah.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Hey Rever, check out https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=26521.

Have you been popping your clutch at 6K+ RPM? If so, this may be why your tranny is acting strange.

Rever,

They have promised that the body shop they are going to refer me to does good work... since they are paying for it I need to play along. But if it's screwed up this time I'll take you up on it and sue them for the bill if I have to.

I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow night.

I won't be able to make short pump this week because I've got some family stuff going on... Next week is very probable though.

Short story on my service visit is that I'm happy with Bill Britt tonight. They offered to flash me to M before I could mention it, cleared the CEL and ordered the part for the AC fix, even though my VIN is about 1000 above the top range for the TSB. It was to cloudy and rainy to see how they did with the paint. I'll check again tomorrow when the sun is out (?).

I got a Mazda 6 for a loaner that smelled like it had been smoked in with the windows up for 1000 hours straight. Other than that it was a nice car, except the tires reminded me it's not a RX-8 when I tried to take a ramp at 60 mph.

We were in Richmond on Sunday and there was premium at some of the gas stations along W. Broad, near Cap Mazda, for the high one-seventies. I'd have to check my reciept but I think it was 1.77 or 1.78.

I pay about $1.68 in Fredericksburg! :P
