Saturday we wound up going to Hunter and the conditions were actually pretty good too, except the back side of the mountain and one double black which was like the vertical wall of icy death... Made it down... unharmed, thank god lol.

East Coast, How was blue mountain?

And we got another trip booked... Feb 5-7 at jack frost big boulder if anyone wants to meet up

^Damn, I got screwed in VT on Sunday at Okemo. Was single digits with wind chill putting it below zero at the peak. That along with the lack of snow leading to hard pack and ice conditions. I didn't think Windham would of gotten snow that night since I didn't see anything come our way, damn!

I'll have to pass on Boulder; I don't do any resorts other than NY, VT, NH and ME for the North East. They're just too small or lack good snow for me. Ironically when the nor'easter hit the tri-state, particular Jersey, they got hit harder than anywhere else while upper NY and VT were left with nadda. I may have to rethink it with the weather patterns not going the way they are supposed to be this year...

Yeah the weather has been so strange this year, the upper new england mountains that rely heavily on natural snowfall have been hurting where-as the lower mountains in like Jersey and PA and lower NY that usually make snow like crazy actually all have a pretty nice base going right now. At least the weathers stayed cold so not the worst ice conditions...

I though it was pretty ironic when I got 28" of snow in a night at my house in Bellport and my friends up at Sunday River that weekend didn't get a single flake... heh

Yea, weather this season is terrible. Even far out west they're getting crap conditions since fall (where they ironically had a crap load of snow) with rain and wet snow making terrible conditions, especially those who go backcountry.

Actually I'll be up at Sunday River with my brother for 4 days starting middle of 1st week in Feb. 1st time I'll be there so hopefully weather plays along...

I drove out of Boston, 8" of unplowed snow at 8 am the morning it hit, to Killington where there wasn't a spot of new snow anywhere It snowed the last day we were there though so that was a good send off.

Well not THAT far out west b/c Colorado was awesome at the end of November... I got some pretty sick pics of the mountains and whatnot on my facebook, don't know if you'll find me but Lauren McGuire if you want to see them.

Sunday River was a really fun mountain the couple times I went a few years ago, definitely on par with Killington (which is my fav on the east coast). Hope you have a great time!

That's the thing though is it was November. Yes at that time out west in Colorado it was awesome I hear from another forum I'm involved in for snowboarding. But as of end of Dec to now the are saying it's crap. El nino is going by with rain and wet conditions making it very dangerous for any backcountry treks and it's not getting the snow it got even close to last year yet.

Killington is ok, but is a bit too overpopulated due to people flocking there all with the same mentality. I find Sugarbush to be a nice jem in VT that is great for better terrain and powder with Jay Peak way up north I hear gets a boat load of snow quite often through the season.

I'll be at Camelback tomorrow 1/23. Getting there early, as well as leaving early. I have a beginner friend with me, but I will be off on my own eventually. If you see someone skiing switch with a yellow jacket, that's me.

I was at Camelback 8am ... great time to be there, had a prime parking spot and got most of my runs in before the crowd came in. Left around 1:30pm. I spent a lot of time practicing my mogul quick carving turns on the beginner trails on the right side of the mountain. Great conditions! Too bad today's rain is gonna make that place a waterpark again.

o.O *eye twitch* Rory....you seriously still want me to attempt to snowboard? *hides* I'd love to chill with you all, but I'm too scared of my knees for actual snowboarding and skiing...

I could try ice skating...if it were an option....ugh! let m think on it...does someone have a skateboard I can practice on? balance is my weakness....

I can get off...if I plan on going

^ That didn't make any humor even if attempted in a sexual provocative way..

Sephy, just suck it up and go. Can't expect to learn without falling. Falling over just assures you learn quicker than going snail pace trying not to fall over. Speed is your friend to help with balance.

Get some knee pads and *** pads. I wear a good pair of *** pads since with how fast I fly and go off in the air I can easily fracture my tail bone. Ask me how I know. With how baggy a lot of snowboard pants are you can't even tell you're wearing any padding underneath anyhow.
