For NY, Gore is a better choice since most of the time up that way powder doesn't fall often and Whiteface is known better as Iceface for the most part.

VT wise, Okemo may be a better selection as Killington can be confusing for those new and plus it gets overcrowded and is farther away. All depends what you're looking for.

Wouldn't you want "powder" to fall for boarding?

powder is nice but for speed powder is not the best espically around me (central NJ) you have to travel very far for any real powder.

I'm in VT right now as I type this ... there is NO snow here

Even Jay Peak, the most northern VT mountain, is not going to be open this weekend. If PA mountains open next week, it'll be a miracle ...

Kill is open but it's patchy at best. Same goes for Sunday River in ME. Have to go to NH or ME for probably the most trails currently. Hopefully next few week it'll start bringing down the hammer it looks like with snow to get back into the winter groove.

Heading up early tomorrow morning to Okemo

I'll be skiing in VT after xmas ... then head to Gore after new year's.

Anyone want to head to Blue Mtn or even Camelback tomorrow (Sun 12/20)? We're supposed to get a dumping of snow tonight ... I'm willing to put up with the traffic to get a start on the season.

Hey everyone (new here)

I actually went to Colorado over Thanksgiving, ridiculous trip, so my season already started, stinks we haven't had snow here yet :-/
But I'm usually boarding around up in the NE and upstate NY area all winter so I'm in for whenever.

I'll be up at Hunter/Wyndham/Bellayre January 7th-10th (renting a house with a bunch of friends) so if anyone's in the area...

I'm definitely in I lived up in Boston for 5 years and went to all the mountains up there, haven't really found anyone who wants to take the 2-4 hour drive with me more than 2 or 3 times a year from around here so I haven't gotten out much since moving back home to the island.

btw un4gvn, love the "unless shes an addict too" part of that quote.... so true, lol
