I would have to disagree. If he was THAT wasted to where they would throw everything at him, the cop would have carted him off to jail at the scene (especially since coke said the cop was trying to be a dick). Obviously he wasnt that bad if the cop just had someone pick him up. If he pays the fine thats a 100% admission of guilt and a DUI or DWI on your record which is hell on insurance and terrible on the driving record. Also that has further repercussions if its on your record. For example... I am an IT guy for the government with a security clearance... If I got one of those, my clearance would be INSTANTLY revoked! Also if you try and apply for a job where you need a clearance (most government jobs) and thats on your record, you wont get the job because they will not clear you because of that. Thats just to give you an example of things people dont think about with those on your record. There is alot of **** that something like that on your record can really **** up for you in the future! Atleast if he goes to court he has a chance of making a plea bargain with the court such as going to AA meetings or taking drivers ed to have the charges dropped. I have seen this happen MANY times in MD. Also if the cop doesnt show up at all he gets NO CHARGES AT ALL. Now in your case driving on the wrong side of the road I am shocked you were not hauled off in cuffs!

Thack i always take my tickets to court.. unless its for parking.. because they are right there and can see the car is in the wrong.. but at least doing traffic violations.. court is always the best place to go.. weather you pay the court fees or not.. because if you pay you can still have the points not put on.. since everything has to go through them anyway..

I'm crossin my fingers and hoping to for the best..

im crossing my fingers for you dont get me wrong. But 97 and a 55 and alcohol in you system I cant say. I can only speak for virginia which has the most messed up laws in america., maryland is a different story. haha yeah im shocked i wasnt. the funny part is the jail is within WALKING distance from where i was... no lie. I had a good cop (got a real tongue lashing from what i remember). Well over .135 Its not worth me taking the time AND risking paying court cost. I see where you at tho landon. All depends on the mood of the judge.

That explains alot... yeah VA is FUCKED UP! My only big ticket was handed to me in VA. The ******* cop didnt even come to court there but they still found me guilty by way of the D.A. What kind of crap is that? Damn arlington county cops....

I feel your pain in VA man

Well this is pretty much a loaded question because it all really comes down to preference and budget. Let’s start with the intake for example…

The debate comes down to 3 choices the last time I checked.

1.) K&N Intake
2.) MazdaSpeed / AEM
3.) Racing Beat

Now I am sure there are many more than this but these are the ones you see more often than not. Don’t expect to see much difference in performance between either of these because Mazda has done a pretty good job from the factory when it comes to the 8’s intake. BTW has anyone ever taken their filter out and seen how big the damn thing is? Anyway the differences are minimal and usually come down to how loud you actually want the car to be. If you want a lot of noise get the K&N filter. They tend to be pretty loud so if that’s your cup of tea, that’s the way you want to go. The Racing Beat is one I like personally. It keeps the original “clean” stock look under the hood and you get more air into your engine but without all of the noise of the K&N filter. It’s like a few decibels louder than the stock which is pretty impressive. As far as the MS intake goes, I think it’s just like the K&N but the difference is that the MS intake IS COVERED by your warranty from Mazda. By the way don't be fooled because the MS intake is nothing more than an AEM intake re-branded.

On to exhausts…

Only a few come to mind on this area…

1.) Racing Beat
2.) Borla
3.) Magnaflow
4.) Greddy
5.) B&B
6.) And a bunch others I cant think of…

Honestly I don’t know much about these. I do know that if you get the wrong one you will loose HP rather than gaining some. I think the safe bets are the RB and the Borla. The borla sounds pretty deep and I haven’t heard anything bad about them at all. Matter fact they come highly recommended. The RB is pretty good too. RB does put actual WHP gains on their web site from their exhaust which is pretty nice but its only 3WHP though. Then again I don’t think any exhaust will get you more than that to be honest when it comes to the 8. You got to remember that that this car isn’t a Honda. An intake and exhaust won’t get you like 30HP or something stupid like that. I think the big deciding factor on any of these will honestly be your budget… That’s just my 2 cents.

Hope that helps…

By the way man, since we both are in E-city we need to meet up sometime.

oh yeah. another thing. i was researching the intakes and exhausts on google..and couple of automotive websites had the same exact intakes and exhausts for a lot cheaper price...are they reliable or should i just go on the main website?

will the intake and the exhaust give me a lower gas mileage than the stock or will it remain the same?

sorry for all these questions...when it comes to cars, im a big time noob...haha thanks for your patience..im just beginning to get interested in cars and stuff.

If its the EXACT exhaust and not a knock off you should be fine. As far as gas milage I think you should remain the same if not get a mile or 2 better because the car can breathe better. Just my opinion... if someone else knows better please speak up

well with the intake you will get more (cooler) air in so you should be useing a little more gas but not much ... exhuast makes you breathe the more gas you are burning so .. you shouldn't get any lower that what you are getting now... anyways, you should know that while the exhuast help haveing the cat will restric your flow still to a great deal. also, Landon is right with our cars you will not get a big HP out of those two. Mazda got every little HP out of the car. but let us know what you are getting.

Oddly enough I have not seen any 8's over this way... well I take that back ive seen 2. One blue driven by a chick and a yellow one FLYING down 100 towards E-city. I see more 7's over here though...

By the way TBD you still alive... you have been pretty quiet the last few days.

Does anybody know any good shops around here who are good with 8's in general? I got into a little mishap today, and kind of hit my bumper against this cement wall. It wasnt too serious. No dents but some minor scratches (little roughness) on the rear bumper and on the lip of the rear bumper (white scratches). However, it's not something that can go away with some touch-up paint. So i was wondering if there was a place where i can get this fixed. I was wondering if i should get this problem fixed at an autobody shop or an auto paint shop. Let me know what i should do. and also if you could, can you tell me some good shops that are around here? Thanks a lot guys.
