Hey bhop, Welcome to the club we have a great group of locals for support, ideas, and suggestions in modding and maintaining your 8,,, anyone of us will help you, and yes that was Dan...
We have frequent meets and sometimes coordinate install days,,, This forum has a vast wealth of knowledge anything you have a question about has been discussed and argued over its just a matter of finding it which sometimes can be difficult with the amount of threads here,,,
Check out some of the other local (NE threads) to see what your able to attend, we have a big meet being planned on the 25th down in Kent Island you and your dad are more than welcome to come by its a Crab feast,,,

Again welcome, it will be hard to hold back on the mods once bitten by the mod-bug,,,,

1) Welcome bhop!

2) I think I passed Loren going down 152 on Wednesday. Don't think she noticed....

3) Aggh! What time is the crab feast? Mazda Club of Washington is holding their picnic in Carderock Park early the same day. Lot's of FD and FE's likely to show.

4) Been busy at work, but found time to post a couple of short vids on gootube. Search for my name and they'll show up.

5) Helmet weight isn't a big deal in a car if there's nothing wrong with your neck. Get one that's a comfortable fit.

6) Have I mentioned I love my RX-8?

QFT. CF is awesome, but way overpriced for track days.

Quality Brain Bucket from Bell that fits nicely even for us too-damned-tall-no-sunroof drivers.

I do plan on swapping to the 6-speed when I have the funds to do so. My dad has a 05 350z MT with to many mods to list but it has been sitting in my garage for about 3 months because we both fell in love with this rx8 and although its slow low end it does keep up with other higher horse powered cars top end. My dad thinks it has a lot of potential. It has the aero package and everything is stock except the HKS single sided hi power exhaust which was done by altered atmosphere. I will be going with the tein basic coilover setup for now because I'm not doing anything serious with the car yet. I will also install a Greddy turbo but I just don't have time because of work at the hospital and I'm in college and so I have to pay for that as well with the asistance of my parents. This rx8 was only bought for $10,000 that I had saved up. The rest of the work that will be done to the car will be coming out of my paychecks and I will mod as the months go by and hopefully keep everyone updated if people here don't mind. I'm usaully very busy with work but I do have a habbit of going to the driving range alot off of 29 going towards Ft. meade. Correct me if I'm wrong but I swear about several days ago there was a winning blue rx8 with the mazdaspeed body kit and some work kai 18/9.5 wheels(bronze). I think it was DANS(DANOMITE?). I saw it at the driving range when I was playing golf. I assumed it was him because it was the exact same car in the pictures that were on the forum. Sorry if it was not you. But if it is you must not live to far from me but IDK. I'm always at the driving range. So yeah, to everyone in maryland, I do cruise around town and the beltway/highways. I'll try to be polite if I do see a fellow member but I'm new to this rx8 forum and may need some guidance. I try to find as much info as possible before posting on a specific topic so if I do post, it will be a question that was not asked hopefully. I will try to post and or reply to any and everyone that has a question about me but please don't get mad if I don't post right away. Oh yeah and for those that have been up to PFS lately they have been running around in a 3 rotor rx8 AT which I thought was pretty cool.
haha, yes, that was me at Rocky Gorge driving range. i've been playing lots of golf lately. i actually work in silver spring and live near ft. meade. stop and say hi next time you see me dude. i may not come off very friendly in the beginning, but once you tell me who you are, i'll warm right up. i get a lot of random ppl who come up to me about my car and ask me all sorts of retarded questions, so i may come off wrong.

Leaving the hospital early hopefully

Yeah DAN, I thought that was you. I can relate to the not coming off nice part. I usaully have to be around someone for awhile before its all lolly jolly between us, not even. Yeah for some reason after the US OPEN(GOLF) I have been going up to Rocky off 29. I taught myself somehow. Thanks Rotr8 for welcoming me to the club and everyone else that was after you. About the meets, With the type of schedule I have everyday It will be pretty tough to make them. I will try my best maybe on days I'm off or leaving early hopefully but has happen rarely lately. I try to gain as much knowledge as possible off of the earlier(past years) threads so I can stay fresh for when we are talking about our ROT engines etc, but I'm honestly always busy with school or work. Thanks again guys and gals lol. But if anyone is driving on 29 and happens to stop by the Rocky Golf area I'm usually there in the evenings(5-8pm) depending on schedule.

I'll miss the caravan, but MSCW is done by 2 PM. So I think I can make it a Mazda day and head down to KI afterwards. The Goog says it's an hour from Carderock to KI, I'm betting I can improve on that.

Not too much though, as I'll be flying low in my CYM R1 FD, which is not exactly, um, stealthy.

Yep. That was fun. Did you see the point-by video I got?

Automatic Turbo Rx8, Where?

I read about them, hear about them but can't find any videos of one. I guess manual will always get more credit than automatic, going turbo that is. Oh well

Looks are not deceiving.

Shenandoah / Summit Point "TrackDaze" event, third time lucky as I went out solo. There is nothing like HPDE except true 'wheel-to-wheel', and I can't afford that drug habit.
