I haven't been to a meet yet, I've been busy (baby/work). I would find time to make an apperience if we could get something set up in Rockville.

I'm driving up the Baltimore this weekend and since I'm passing through I was thinking of stopping in on a meet. Anything going on in the area as far as meets or car events this Saturday? I know for a while there was a regular meet going on in Rockville in a parking lot right off of Rocville Pike not too far away from Friday's. I've heard that for a good while now this meet no longer happens. Is this true? Are there any other regular meets that still go on?

I haven't been to one of those in a long time! Anyone want to meet at Whitemarsh before the weather gets too cold?

hey i was wondering did anyone take their call in for a recall? i havn't gone yet and i havn't gotten my notice for it... i bought the car used with 19k miles on it, and i was thinking about riding it out to 30k and then do the recall or should i just do it now? if so... what dealer in maryland should i go to ? i am trying to avoid the route 40 one... im considering rich morton but i just wanted to hear from you guys . i know this is probably the wrong place to post this but i think this is the best feedback from us MD-ers :D

Excel,
I would avoid rt40. I use to have my 7 and Millenia S serviced there and did not have the best service. I bought my 8 at Rich Morton. I had the recall done two weeks ago. I asked them not to wash it. They didn't. They filled it up and topped it off. even had the gallons put in for my records ... I've kept a record of the mileage since purchasing the 8. Ask for Frank Titus. tell him Reno sent you.

If you are not experiencing problems dont take it in. I didnt have any issues but I took it in anyway and they updated my PCM (ECU) which caused my car to take longer to start... I HATE IT!!! The new flash cuts fuel on the startup (hince it taking longer) and adds more oil to the engine during driving. If your car is fine dont bother with the recall.

The recall has a time limit.... I don't recall how long you have to have it done it's in the recall notice.
Yes it takes longer to start. The flash cuts the amount of fuel at startup to lessen the chance of flooding the engine. The previous flash did this too. The most recent flash includes the previous changes and effects the oil metering. The oil metering is the cause of the engine failures and loss of power that some have experienced. You should read the recall thread in media news for more information.
My recall ... got all new plugs and gas... asked them not to wash my 8. My plugs had a lot of carbon ... but at 38k that is to be expected.

Enjoy the Drive
After the recall expect to use more oil.
