Hi,

Welcome to the forum .

On your questions:

The plastic engine cover (that says Renesis) is MIA
Don't sweat that. In the for sale forums you will see one a month normally for around $30 - $50.

Rear taillight is filled with moisture (is this common? If so, is there a fix, or simply need replaced?)
There is a TSB on this. If the car is under manufactures warranty they will fix it.

One of the dash vents is broken
If needed I have one extra one. The dash needs partiality removed. What side is it. The passenger side is easier of the two. I had to remove mine around a month ago as I was painting the trim ring on them.

Keep in mind to ship a car is only around $500. Also maybe expand your search to Cincinnati and Cleveland.

On the flip side I took deliver of the STI last night .

Take care,

Brian

Brian, thanks for the response and congrats on the STI.

The dash vent that is broken is the center stack (above the radio) on the left side. Regarding the engine cover, I noticed that Immke has a second 04 on their web site, and it too doesn't have the cover. Is there a reason people would sell them? Any kind of benefit to removing it in the first place?

When I expand my search outside of C-bus, I do find plenty of additional choices. I may have to take a weekend road trip to take a look at some of them. I'm very particular about the condition of my vehicles, so I don't think I could buy anything site unseen (like on e-bay).

Thanks again, and if you do see any other 04-05s for sale locally, let me know!

Thanks again, Brian

No benefit from removing them. One reason, off the top of my head, is aftermarket sway bars seem to be a little higher.

I did a few out of town cruises when looking for my 8. I ended up getting one pre-auction in town.

Take care,

Brian

You folks are soooo bad . I wonder what happened to that gray one at MD that had been "Buckeyed" out?

Jason,

Sure did. You have a nice group there. Figured would sign up here at some point. It was GREAT meeting you. Hope you like the ****. CCA dropped my car to me at work the next day around 11:00. Like Rich said "trust us, have we ever let you down?". They are a great crew there being Columbus Car Audio on Morse Rd (intersection of Westerville Rd).

I am going to snap some pix today of the random stuff I have and post it up. I sold the aero kit as a whole (Yeah tint job for my STI calling today).

Take care,

Brian

I gotta agree. Titanium is probably my favorite color on the 8....followed closely by Winning Blue and Velocity Red.

I did see the buckeye 8 at Mazda Direct a while back.... sorry, I could never do it. I'm a PSU alumni.

I'm think lightning yellow is the best color ever! Especially if you put black wheels on it. Queuing Anthony...

Just been swamped with work...holidays are crazy times in retail. Haven't had much time to keep up with the forum.

Anyone know of a good wheel repair shop?

Thanks guys. What did you guys have done and how much did it cost? Also, do you know if they have experience handling high end multi-piece wheels?

Looks like another lost weekend coming up. 24 Hours of Daytona watching the Speedsource guys doing their thing.

I was so sad to hear of Sylvain losing his wife last month. Even after that terrible tragedy, he jumped in the car today and put it on the pole! I realy hope they get the repeat win.

I'll be cheering them on - anybody else?
