Silly question but did anyone in the Columbus area trade in their RX8 to Ricart Mazda March of this year (or knows someone who did)? A 2005 VR GT... just curious if I could find the original owner of my car.

Yeah, I confirmed MD is closing. They state you can bring the car into the Toyo repair department as they will be keeping the Mazda techs...no thank you.

Been a weird week here. Earlier this week I totaled my POS. Completely my fault. Pulled out in front of a Ford F-350. T-boned my passenger side. I'm sore but OK. The real bad part was the POS was only 2K in price, I had no comprehensive insurance . So I ordered some Blizzak LM-25 tires. Should be in Wednesday. Of course it will be snowy and wet beginning today

On the good side of the week I rewired my added on OEM fog lights at the fuse block level so they can come on with my running lights only. Thinking of adding another "connector on the accessory line at the fuse block, this would let me turn them on with no lights on. If anyone wants it I did a Word DOC on it with pictures. There is a thread on here but was long and evolving throughout.

I also replaced my worn looking driver side window/door lock module with a pristine looking one.

Doing the holiday lights and tree today .

Take care,

Brian

Brian,

Glad you're ok. You should be fine on the LM-25s - especially with that hopelessly slow auto - lol.

I bought my 8 at MD, but heeding the words on this board never serviced the car there. Changed the oil myself and just bought parts from them. The parts people were nice, but that's about all I can say.

Well I got my new Blizzak LM-25 tires mounted last night FTW!!! Very glad to get the summer tires off . TireRack really does a great job getting their orders shipped.

Bummer my 8 will have to see winter this year . Oh well I will get a new POS next fall when I have some disposable income.

Bruises are fading nicely. I hope to start lifting weights next week again.

Take care,

Brian

i went with environmental air, who had a sticker on my furnace and whose tech said it was $60/hour when i talked to him sat. they tried to charge me $250 for a $5 spring; $80 for the first 30min (including drive time from when the tech is dispatched) and $80/hr after that. it only took him about 30 min of working on it, but between driving to my place, down to grove city to get the part and whatnot i got charged for 2.5 hours of labor. the tech was cool and apparently is just a contractor for them, he said he charges drive time but only $50/hour for his own business. his name is mark and his number is 306.3361/879.9205

Just a bump...

Installed the shock upgrade sensor yesterday for the alarm. Very easy to read and follow install. PITA doing it!!! Man talk about NO slack in the wires. That and the angle you have to be in really made it a BIT$H!!! That and being 6 ft 5 inches didn't help I'm sure.

Next on my winter mod list will be painting some interior parts.

Take care,

Brian

Don't laugh...NTB BUT...

Go to the one next to Quaker Steak and Lube on Polaris Parkway. They use a different machine called the road master. It does the work at a much higher speed. It made a difference for me.

That and you can go next door for some wings .

As an aside I was in the Mazda dealer off of Sawmill. I was getting an issue looked at. Killing time I looked at the 09 R3. For grins I had them look at my car for a trade in. Get this....they would NOT budge off of MSRP . Period.

Freaking crazy. Guy tried to give me his card with "Call me if you want to move forward". I handed the card back and stated the same thing (Couldn't help it).

On the flip side I have some blacked out emblems being shipped to me. Can't wait to get them put on. It's the little things that make me smile (since I can't afford the big things ).

Take care,

Brian

OK, I did a little painting (the start only). I pulled my pass through door to the trunk, the silver ring in the console plate on the gear shift plate and the vent grille chrome rings.

I got all these painted with one issue. I got the vent grille out (lot of disassemble) one was still cold from being outside. I used a needle nose pliers to remove the silver ring for the vent grille and..... snap. I super glued it back together but you can still see something happened there. Of course it is one part not separate @ Mazda so I will probably post up a WTB thread.

I also had ordered some blacked out logos. When they came in they had chips. So I ordered the one for the front bumper and sprayed all of that also.

All I can say was it was darn cold removing this stuff over the weekend .

I am going to do the random covers in the engine bay next.

Take care,

Brian

Hope everybody had a great holiday!

Santa stopped by and dropped off a set of RB A/C & oil cooler screens. Maybe I can put them on tomorrow while the temperature is good, but I've been down with an intestinal bug since Monday.

We'll see.

Hope you feel better. Glad to hear you will get the prior version replaced on your car.

I pulled my various engine covers yesterday for my on going paint project. I just need to pickup some MM alum wrenches to remove the rotor symbol from my seats.

Can't wait to get it all put back in. My car is looking, well, not right .

Got my third brake light in the LED group buy. I will also spray that with VHT to match my tail lights.

Take care,

Brian

Just doing interior trim pieces and some engine covers. I am using Sherman Williams metal specks...retro red. This will match the light theme I have going on. I have all parts cleaned and taped off. I have painted two as a test and they came out great.

On the flip side...some traded paint on my drivers side while at Polaris mall yesterday. Security pulled up tapes we can see the car but can't get a license plate on it.

Called insurance today. This will not effect my coverage rates but deductible needs to be met being $750. I just can't F*ing win. Wife laid off (no new job yet), kid (20) is hitting me left and right for money. my POS got totaled, ticket payment money, heck even my dog had to get into the act....$350 vet surgery bill last week for an ear issue.

So at this point I don't have the $750. I think I am in the running for a country song or some crap.....sigh .

I keep telling myself it gets better, I just want to know when .

Sorry to rant, just found out about the insurance a minute ago.

However I had family at Christmas so it isn't all bad as they count the most and always will.

Take care,

Brian

i wouldnt say im the choir but ive had my fair share... lol lucky enough just now in the 8... though heres a good one.. last winter... diring all the bad snows.. my neighbor ran into my eclipse.. while it was parked.. didnt tell me.. i go out to go to work the next day i have a flat rear tire and a dent in the drivers rear quarter panel.. took me 3 days to figure out who did it..(he kept the truck in the garage...) even before that he goes.. dude who hit your car man!.. yeah good neighbor.. then when he did have it outside i lined up the black paint transfer from his truck to my car and saw the red paint from my car on his! he still tried to deny it... and it was on private property so police couldnt do anything.. insurance wanted me to pay for it because if he denies it they cant put a claim on him unless there is a police report or investigators report saying he did it.and i cant afford an inv estigator.. lol
