Chris told me Friday that laptop was due back today. I'll call shortly to find out if it made it.

Ra, I don't know. I have just started dealing with them since I bought the Mazda 5. I might however, call Frank if this goes on any longer.

Gotcha. I wasn't sure if you had a recent bad experience with Byers. I live 5 minutes from MD, but after my bad experience with my console, and alignment, I'd rather drive across town and get done right the first time with Frank @ Byers.

A few things:

I called MD yesterday and the laptop is still out being fixed and basically they don't know when they are getting it back. So I called Frank and he has me scheduled for Friday morning for the 'S' Flash and any other additional recall work.

Secondly, I have some things in the parts area for sale. My whole appearance package and my exhaust finishers. I haven't purchased anything yet to replace them but if I can sell them I will do something for sure.

What a day to park on the roof of the lot at OSU! I got dents on the hood, roof, and trunk from the golf size hail To make things worse, As i left, I got caught in on High and on campus where streets were terrribly flooded...I'm talking about at least 2 ft. of water!, and, oh, to top it off, the water covered the sidewalk too and when I was trying to avoid a fallen tree, I ended up hitting the curb (that was submerged under water as I crossed the river in the road...not having a good day. I'll be taking it in tomorrow to have the damage assessed. I'm hoping that there's no water damage to the engine and electrical components, but things smell kind of weird, especially after hard breaking

Sorry to hear of all that damage but look at it this way, maybe it's your opportunity to get a carbon fiber hood and new wheels.

Eek! So sorry to hear that. Good luck getting everything fixed.

Seriously, much sympathy goes out to anyone who was caught in the hail storm last night. That's one thing you simply can't avoid.

B-,

I'm glad she liked the car, thank you. I'm a little embarassed though because I'm running around without exhaust shrouds. I purchased new ones and I want to wait till the rb exhaust goes on before I put them back on the car. It will make the install a little easier to have them out of the way.

I had just picked up my car from the PCM upgrade. The 'S' flash seems pretty good thusfar. Smooth and decent pull through the rpm's. Nice but nothing dramatic. Definitely schedule it to be done. They also checked the cat out and all was fine there. Frank told me that they have a new service manager there so hopefully many of the issues that folks had there will be over.

Ra,

Maybe the r-magic front lip and sides though I may do the rb sides instead. Spoiler from rb, euro oem or evo-r.net . Rear from rb or stay with stock rears. This will be a spring thing as I doing want new paint in the winter.

My immediate goal is to get all the performance stuff I've purchased installed. It's driving crazy to wait. My other dilema is to go with Konis or Tokico for shocks. Anyone feel good either way?

You can't go wrong with the RB package (exept fronts), especially like the spoiler and rear. I'm hoping to get a new spoiler as well but a little nervous about the holes from the stock spoiler. I have the MS sides, and need to get that installed anyone want to help!!???

Dang! New paint??? Details, details!

Welp! off to the game! GO BUCKS!!!!

True Performance is a great body shop. Expensive but worth the extra cash. They are in Dublin off 33 near MAG. They do all of their cars hence the expensive price.

Anyone have access to a lift? I half thought about doing the intake, strut bars, cat and exhaust myself. Am I crazy for even thinking about it?

Yup, True Performance is the only place I go to now. These guys know their stuff and do it right the first time.

Lemme double check on a lift, but if you find one, I'd be glad to lend a hand.

ok, to be super late agian is anyone up for lunch tomorrow? its probably my last time i can get together in a month and the weather is supposed to be beautiful.

anthony...haha, you cant even notice the shrouds! as for shocks, ive heard good things about the tokico, but you can never go wrong with konis. i havent been reading the suspension forum for a while, but of course theres all kinds of good stuff there. and my lift is down in cincy, unfortunately nothing here. all that stuff should be pretty simple though, you shouldnt have any problem doing it all yourself. you dont need a lift for the intake so if you want to do it sometime let me know.

another vote for true performance, my dad got his nsx fixed there back in the day and they did a great job.

One weekend at a time and you should be okay. I've done all the above in my garage except the cat. I can lend you an extra set of hands and a low profile jack if you need it. Save you on labor cost for more mods.

On another note, got the MS sides installed. Took a lot longer than expected. Taking the appearance side flares were the hardest part because of a fused nut/bolt. Drilling into the body was scary. All in all, not bad.

Just called TruePerformance and set up an appt. for Tues. morning. They said that they'll work with Geico and come to a happy compromise so that it should be covered and minimize my out of pocket $. Thanks for the recommendation guys

Add me to the list of people who got hit by the hail storm. My hood, roof, doors and trunk look like a golf ball with all the dimples now. It's ohhh so classy. I was traveling for work and my car was on the top level of the parking garage. When I left there wasn't any mention of hail (I don't even think I read anything about rain!). I'm supposed to get an estimate for State Farm over in Westerville sometime soon. I might try TruePerformance if things go well for you RX8rider.

Right now I'm also working on trying to get my job to pay for the repairs since I was on their clock. Seems only fair to me.

Well, I went to TruePerformance this morning and they seem very competent. The place was real clean and the employees were courteous. Oh, and there was a sweet blue Lambo sitting in the front The estimate for all the repairs is $4049!! Geico will be appraising the 8 on Oct. 18 so it'll be interesting to see what their estimate is. On the way home, I started day dreaming about using that big insurance check for the Greddy turbo instead but then reality kicked in.

4 grand may sound like a lot, but these guys will do it right. It will be as good as new. They work on some nice stuff. Last time I was there they had a 60's era Mustang they had worked on. I'm not a big fan, but this thing was beautiful!

Hope you get it worked out with the insurance.

BTW, in answer to the tire question, I'm waiting to see what happens. We are headed for Pigeon Forge next week. We're still thinking about which car to take. The Miata on a nice fall day in the mountains sounds good, but so does running the 8 down the Dragon. It's nice to have these tough decisions!

I'll look at the forcast on the weekend and make a decision. Snows will be on around Nov. 1 otherwise.

I'm scheduled next Tues. for everything to be done at RX8store in Hilliard. I think I'm looking at roughly $200.

MS CAI, 4-pt. Strut tower, Rear strut tower, Exhaust and cat.

I may stay to help if I can. Taking the nose off the car should be interesting. What do you guys think?
