I saw the DIY, just nothing directed to the bolt itself. But thanks for the info.

New to RX8 Club

What's up guys? I'm new to RX8 Club and obviously this thread. I live just north of Akron. I'm usually headed up or down 91 for work and whatever else. I have an 06 sunlight silver RX8 GT AT ( : / ) with the factory spoiler. Only 25k on the clock. Just busted it out for the summer, and lovin' every minute of it.

I'm looking to do some upgrading here soon, now that I have some money to throw at it. Probably going to go with some Volk GT-C's, diamond black. And, if the stars align, the Mazdaspeed body kit would be sick too. Maybe I'll beef up the Bose system with something more, as well.

Anyways, just thought I'd jump in and say hey.

Welcome to the club. I have a set of MS skirts sitting in my garage. The guy I bought them from claims they were OEM but I never bothered to confirm. I think they started out as yellow, then he painted over them in red. Both paint jobs seem poorly done as the paint is coming off in 4" x 4" chunks. I ended up buying a different set and these have sat in my garage for 2 years. I'm not sure if its worth the money to strip them down and start over, but you can have them for free if you want. I work up rt91 in Stow. You can come check them out if you want.

I went with the Red Top in my bronco. Never not started due to the battery. 4 years old now.

There is a good chance I'll be at the meet also, but I'm not ready to commit to the list just yet.

I also have some autocross wheels.

Howdy guys, I'm newish to this thread. I've been on the website for a month or so now. I'm in the process of getting my first RX-8! I live right outside Mentor. The RX-8 I'm in the process of buying is a 2004 Mazda RX-8 Base 6-Speed. Note this is also my first car purchase!(not my first car but first one I bought on my own). I'm really interested in getting to know the local owners, I've only seen one RX-8 in Mentor it was a Red '04.

Right now I'm not looking to upgrade any parts, as I'm still in High School and don't get the cash flow to do so. But in the future I hope to upgrade a decent amount, noting to extreme.

Looks like I'm gunna have a fun time here

Just do some research before throwing cash at an aftermarket component (especially with your limited case flow).
You'll find a lot of information in this forum (and a lot of BS attitudes), but its there if you search.
Also feel free to ask us in this thread since we've already been through most of it already and learned along the way.
When you see a meet scheduled (like the one coming up) stop by and chat, ask questions, and give us an idea on what you're looking to achieve in upgrades.

Get a maintenance history on this RX8 you plan on purchasing and ask for a compression test too.
I have a rotary compression tester, but you also don't want to get stuck with an engine that might need rebuilt soon and the extra cost with that.
So its best to find out before you buy!

Hey welcome mccornville. I'm new here too, so don't let your inexperience bother you. There are plenty of helpful threads here for just about whatever you want to know.

Good luck with the purchase.

Welcome I've been spending most of my time off in broadview hts so I am fairly close to mentor. (and boneyard lol) my girlfriend lives there lol. Anyway I suggest against an 04 simply because it's out or almost out of warranty and still being in school it MIGHT turn into a money pit. Buy a little newer if you can. 07 or up. Better reliability due to updated flashes and minor upgrades. The best are the 09+ which is a series 2.

There is an S2000 club meeting at Chapel Hill mall on this day also... not sure if you want to crash it and have a West Side Story style import rumble.

We could call it "torqueless brawl"
