I won't be there unfortunately. I have the pleasure of ripping out a steering rack on a j-body. If I get done early though I may swing out for a little bit.

John, you better at my house well before noon
Quick cold weather question. This bugged me last winter and this morning's 40 degree temp gave me a flash back. Seems like the manual tranny does not shift nearly as smooth when its cold. After a couple min of driving it seems to improve. I am using Redline fluid with 15k-20k mi on it (had probably 7k-10k last winter). This is the only manual tranny I've owned so not sure if this is normal. Advice?

That is normal as in the cold weather the tranny fluid gets thicker. Are you allowing your car to properly warm up before attempting to drive it in the winter?

Here's a couple hundred pics from this years Sema in Vegas. Sadly I dont get to go, but a co-worker gets to go for research. His focus was on matte paint jobs, hence the theme in these pics.
warning - pics are not Devilboi quality

Hey all, sorry to be MIA for a while, school has taken over for the semester. Car has been running great and just replaced the alternator last week. It was the original one and it lasted 128k so not too bad over all.
Jon, was that you I saw today?

Hey everyone... I just have a few things to throw out there...
First, any interest in setting up a winter get together? everyone has kind of seemed to drop off the face of the earth recently...
Next... as winter approaches, I want to remind everyone that I can provide storage for your car if needed. The rate is $1.33 per day.
Further, Kristen was rear-ended two weeks ago now and although she's pretty much fine for the most part (acute neck pain) they did total out her 2000 Hyundai elantra with 142k miles.
The budget for a new ride is roughly 5-6k with the following criteria:
2002 or newer
under 100k miles
over 150 hp
manual trans
2 door coupe or hatch back (could be a 4 door hatch i guess - golf, mazda3)
She's not too fond of domestic brands.
On the list: Civics (si), focus (svt only
) Tiburon GTV6.
Me: I'd like to see her in a Scion TC, but I don't know if they've dropped enough to be in her price range.
Anything else you guys feel we should be taking a longer look at? Cobalts, Fit, idk?
