Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.
Technically I was responding to Doc's reference about someone talking smak in this thread and only one person mentioned the 'surprise'. But that's silly sematics. We can all agree that we should continue to talk smak to any Nissan owner.
BTW - Put up some attempts at recording my stock noise on youtube. I'll drop in comparable new noises tomorrow night. I think I need one or two more to complete the experience (like outside with revs and in a parking garage with windows down) but the sound and picture from my digital camera in recording mode blows so in the end it might be a moot attempt at showing what's being added to my car.
WARNING: You may experience some motion sickness on this ride. Camerawork was sacrificed for shifting/not crashing...

BTW...in case you guys didn't notice...Brian made a post today about a Charity AutoX that his gf is putting on. https://www.rx8club.com/mw-rx-8-forum-31/charity-autox-benefit-umdf-july-19-a-149816/
Let's have the TeethNThings.com Mazda RX8 Smackdown.
TeethNThings.com will sponsor a $15 discount for a future NORA event at the Charity run Saturday July 19th. That's a 50% discount for a regular event.
So come out and support the Charity AX at Captains Stadium.
Also, don't forget to shop www.teethnthings.com.
All smack chatter is included!
Per Megan (aka Megz):
Saturday July 19 will be an autox to benefit UMDF: United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. (click here for a description and a link to UMDF's website)
A short tid-bit to why I'm involved and what's going on... My aunt passed away on my 16th birthday from this disease, it slowly eats away at your cells, basically destroying your muscles and organs. Anyway, there are plenty of benefits going on year round, but I'd like to have my own that's a bit more personal and want to get some friends to join along.
Details:
When: Saturday July 19: 12 Noon - ...whenever we finish
Cost: $30 for EVERYONE (NORA/ASCC member or nonmember)
Where: Eastlake parking lot by Captain's Stadium
The event is up on axtime (you can pre-register for the event at www.axtime.com) Other than covering the cost of the insurance and using the lot .. I would like to make sure we make that and get close to $500-$1000 raised for the foundation.. yeah it may be a stretch but who cares, it's worth it. In order to get that, we need roughly 50-60 people out there.
If nothing else, come out and watch, take pictures... I'm going to see if anyone is willing to donate some time to do a concession stand as well as donating to the booth (of course I will help out with it).
This will be a meet/autox/benefit and for FUN, no need to take this too seriously, but I REALLY appreciate all the help I can get and support
To preregister for the event click on the provided link and go to pre registration events. On the new page that opens up click on NORA/ASCC and it will take you to the events page.
More information can be found on NORA's website here: http://noraracing.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1753
And on Cleveland6club in this thread: http://www.cleveland6club.com/phpBB2...pic.php?t=1312
The address for the parking lot is as follows:
Eastlake Captains Baseball Stadium
35300 Vine Street
Eastlake, OH 44095-3142
LINK TO GOOGLE MAPS
The lot is on the Southwest corner of Vine Street and 91. If you follow the google maps link it is the lot directly across 91 to the West of the stadium
Hope to see some of you out there.
I should be able to win in STU with just an untuned 8 with an AM intake, AM exhaust, and stock wheels, right? I mean my Zaino should make me fast...
:D
Unfortunately for you guys, I have to work on the 19th. There is a Nelson Ledges FunDay on the 18th that I'll be attending if anyone is interested.
Not sure about driving the course... guess it depends on the weather and if they inspect cars.
My rear tires are getting real bald and if they check cars, I'm sure I won't pass.
Even if they don't, if it rains, I won't risk it.
I'll be there to watch and ask questions while I'm there.
Maybe ask to ride along and/or ask for an instructor (I would rather learn the track the right way).
I'll just bring some cash with me and see what happens.
Speaking of the 18th... don't forget that our next meet at Rush Hour in Twinsburg.
Coming from the North, just take I480 east and get off at 91 (Darrow rd) exit.
Turn left and you'll see a plaza to your left (behind Taco Bell).
Rush Hour is in there on the left side.

Jon, if you wanted you could always drive someone elses car or we might be able to work something out to get you two wheels for your rear from someone from c6c. Let me know what you want to do.
I wouldn't feel comfortable driving someone's car on my very first track day... knowing my luck, I would run the car off the road and into a pond.
After just purchasing the AccessPort, we'll see if I can manage $125 for the Fun Day!
If not, no big deal... my goal for next year is to get my car "auto-x ready" and buy a helmet so I can join you guys!
test drove a 40th anni on tuesday. fell in love. going down tonight to put a deposit on it so they can hold it for me. need to sell my car now!
one thing i noticed about the 40th is that it seems to be the parent of the 09's Gt and R3. The GT and R3 models are basically the 40th anni model split. Half the features on one car, half on the other. Only major difference i noticed (aside from the face lift) is the radio has BT-technology. *shrug* R3 has same suspension as the 40th model and all the comforts of the GT are in it as well.

That's why everybody's confused. You can't drive the car like that on a track. It'll mess it up. And I wouldn't drive someone else's car there either. John and I thought you were talking about the AX. Sorry for any smak talk,,,,my bad.
Agreed. I wouldn't chance it with bald rear tires. You'll either end up in the grass or you'll have to Grandma it around the track, not getting your money's worth. Bring your helmet and you can hop in with me for a run or two if you'd like. For the other runs you could be the "videographer".
BTW, for all of those thinking about running that day, the price is $130. I'm not sure why they didn't update that on the site, but that's what it cost me last time. Passenger (helmeted) or spectators are $5.
As of now I think I'm going to try and go rain or shine. (As long as they run it, which they should.) I really want to get the wet track experience.....so long as it doesn't turn into the wet off-track experience.
You can also do 1/2 days @ Nelson and it will cost you only $65 for the rest of the day. If this is your first time on a track, I strongly recommend you ride with someone that has a lot of experience @ Nelson. There is no runoff area and if you make a mistake and do not have a lot of experience, you and the car can be in a lot of trouble.
tiresmoker and I saw a 2003 M3, get totaled, the car still had temp tags on it. I am sure he still has the pics of that accident. That is just one of several accidents we have seen.
good luck, be safe and have a good time!
Here's a link to the M# that was totaled.
