Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.
well... this is a vintage photo from when I DID weld over the summers between college... as you can see... its a little larger than the pics Jon posted.
In all seriousness, this is like a 5 minute job per pedal. If you guys want to take yours off, let me borrow it for a week, I know I can get them all welded up at no cost. It would be easier to do them all at once. Let me know.

Might just take u up on that offer.
Oh and if the new guy still needs someone to check out the 8 at the stealership it lois like I might have time tomorrow. Jon has got my cell number. I'm just a tad closer to brunsitucky than either of you.
.
Depending on the time (if he does it tomorrow) I'll probably have him call you.
Yeah i should be on my way to go see it at 9 tomorrow or 930 at the latest. It would be funny if like half the cleveland area came and looked. We could prob get the car for damn near free lol.
So what do you guys suggest i look up before i head over there?
Ive had an unhealthy obsession with these cars for months now and i dont even own one yet but i see that is kind of a trend with these cars

The main reason the nav is such a plus for me is because this summer i want to do a carpc project and want it to look as stock as possible and have the screen still be motorized.
edit: yes it is gonna be an all season car for me. thats why im hoping it doesnt snow, it isnt gonna be too cold, the car has at least some all seasons on it not summer tires, and the streets are clear so i can drive it. again the whole problem is the lack of manual driving skills.

Mirka and I canceled our test drive today.
With the snow fall and not knowing what kind of tires are on it, neither wanted to chance driving it.
We agreed to wait for clearer roads.

I'm tempted to drive over there, tell the salesman I can't drive stick, and have him drive me around. Almost guarantee they will have to throw in snows then. :D
I'll tell you what, since you are so sure of it (or can almost guarantee it), IF you manage to do it I'll pay for your beer(s) at a future meet.
BUT... I want to see pics for proof.
Ryan - you'll only get the snows IF they have some laying around... if not you're SOL. Thats what you both are really wagering - If they'll have 18in snow tires laying around somewhere.
I promise they won't order them. But if they have them around, I'm sure they would throw them in if it meant selling the car that day.
I don't know if they would do it for a test drive. Could be clever though; request they put snows on the for the test drive... then say "I'll take it, right now, gimme gimme gimme" and see if they'll let you drive away with the snows on it.
So I'm reading up the best oil to put in the motorcycle... they're saying diesel oil works well because I have a wet clutch and its less grabby than synthetic gasoline oil.... thoughts? Sounds weird to me...

A typical used car dealer I can't see going out of the way to order snow tires (without jacking up the cost).
But... I really want someone to prove me wrong.
I'm sure Mirka would appreciate it.

I attached the clutch pedal removal chart with those of you who are going to tackle this.
Just follow the numerical order and I added a couple notes to help along the way.

Its snowing hard down here too. Glad I moved the motorcycle yesterday - which was still a very cold experience.
. . . man I hate those pictures. They really just make everything look really complicated and scary.
Anyway - how many of us are planning on doing this? Mine being a daily driver will have to be removed and reinstalled the same day (thats why I'm asking) But I know Jon, John, Ryan, Doc (x2) could all be clutchless for a few days.

Ryan - why don't you go up there and give it a spin? I mean, you'll be able to tell if the motor has power loss or something and could save our new buddy the trip up there.
