I'm just watching on TV and I'm frickin stoked.
Tom and I are talking about going to VIR next month if anyone wants to go. I'm trying to change my schedule and don't know if I'll have the car put together fast enough.

You might want to send an email to Ryan. He doesn't come around much anymore. I do know that he had the wheels after he lowered the car and did not rub so I would assume that the stock suspension would have more clearance and not rub as well.
hey all. had a small prblem with the 8 this morning when i went to go over to my friends house to meet up to go to the bike show. my friend only lives less then a mile from me so i started up the 8 and let it run for a couple min before taking off. on the way to his house since its such a short distance i wanted to get the rpms up high to help get the motor warm so i wouldnt have it floooded for the next time i started it. when i would hit 6k on the tach the car would bog down like the gas had been shut off to the engine. i tried to hit 6k a couple more times and it did it each time.
when i went to go home after the show (left the car in his garage) i was able to take the rpms up to 8k with no problem. should i be concerned about the trip to his house this morning?

You should never go above 6k rpm until the motor is up to temp.
I usually try to stay around 4k until its warmed.
The car went into "limp mode" because of this.
Nothing to worry about... just don't do it again

k thanks. figured it wasnt anything to be worried about. will keep it in mind to not go to high rpms till its at normal operating temp. just kinda sucks that alot of the places i go to around where i live are so close that the engine doesnt really have time to get up its normal operating temp. grocery store is half a mile away, friends house is a mile and my morning coffee stop is about 20 seconds away (depending if i actually stop at the stop sign or just pause and go)

Just let your car sit in your drive longer at idle...if it isn't a short trip it isn't as much of a big deal...but with trips like that it is going to be really important. I would also read up and keep a copy of Jon's DIY on deflooding handy just in case...

High Flow Cats
Brian and Doc:
If you don't mind me asking, since it sounds like neither of you are going with a traditional highflow cat (RP Supercat, exoticspeed cat, rx7store high flow cat etc), what cat units did you go with?
Brian, you mentioned something about flow rating or something? What is that all about? I assume its rated to allow more air through it, but how do you find that information and what is the scale?
Also, I posted Ryan's old ceramic brakes for sale, shoot me PM if anyone is interested.
Feb isn't the best month initially. . . as much as Kristen loves you guys. This Friday we're doing her Birthday dinner, and next weekend is Valentines weekend. (thought I guess Friday the 12th would work, if we're all ready to face that battle.)
Also, autoshow opens at the end of the month too.

Steve,
Doc has a RP HFC, it's just hacked to remove the cat portion of the pipe and replace it with a straight piece for track days.
As for me, it's a custom piece. I'll explain more through a pm over on c6c. Too much to type here.

If you look in the Wheels and Brakes section you can find a thread dedicated to Enkeis. Plenty of pics of this wheel type/tire size combination on different suspensions.

Blind Squirrel finds nut on Groundhog day
So, reading the classifieds as I do for most of my day. I discovered that the wheels I purchased are apparently a limited edition racing series or some ****.
Weird. . .
Kosei racing wheels actual light weight racing wheels not available anymore
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...h=Gold+Painted
These wheels are 14LBS and are 17X8 and are the limited production racing edition(you will fing some 7.5 but the 8 are very rare and NLA)
The offset is +45
The set for $900 picked up no curbing and are staright

i just bought mine 12 days ago cause my mustang blew its heads. now i wish i had another car so i could keep the 8 parked and out of the snow. sad to say thats not gonna happen this yr. guess 1 yr in the snow out of 5 isnt to bad. will just have to wash it alot to try and keep the salt off it. course if we ever get a warm enough day i can always park it and take the bike to work

I'm going skiing in Vermont this weekend, though.
I had Valeo blades on the 8 which were perfect in the rain and Tirerack almost always has a B1G1 deal going on:

Loved those and they end up around the same price ($20 plus shipping). Always wanted to try the PIAA wipers. Only wipers I've ever looked at that don't get random negative reviews.
I just put cheap RainX wipers on my Explorer and they've been great but nothing beats having RainX washer fluid and not having to use your wipers at all when it's really raining (oddly enough it doesn't work as well when it's just sprinkling).

RainX is amazing and I still apply the straight stuff in the spring to the car. Had great luck with their fluid and blades in the past though. As for my regular blades...I have always been a big fan of the cheap AutoZone double blades.
