Yea! looking like a good turn out.

Putting my winter list of parts to purchase and work to do this winter. . . its not looking cheap or easy, which is the exact opposite of what I look for in a project and woman.

Well... just to add to that ever-growing list, might want to consider a new intake manifold gasket (the large one that seals the manifold against the engine).
The gasket from your used manifold is missing material and we won't be sure of your current one until we pull it.

OnlineMazdaParts has it for $85.49 and the p/n is N3H313111A

Mazmart might have one for cheaper, I'll worry about it when there is snow on the ground. Which will probably be in October... lots of work to do this winter.

Meet

I would love to meet all of you. I have only met Doc & TJ Thus far. But I am dropping the car at the race shop that morning to get it prepped, and I will be without wheels for a day....that day.

I look forward to meeting all of you soon, though.

Does anyone know of some adjustable (Short), end links that are less than $170 Ea? I really need them soon. Since dropping the car, the geometry needs adjustment.

LeBren ( a vendor on the forum here) Offers some adjustable endlinks. Brian (tiresmoker) runs them and his car is scraping the ground. He's run a few autocross events on them without any problems. I think he said they're 100 bucks for front and rears.

As Mr. Vyn said and I have mentioned, I have the Lebron endlinks. $55 for the rears (I believe they cost the same for the fronts too) SO you can probably get away with adjustable links on all four corners for $110

And btw, I am low, like low low....

Here's with the car at an autocross, the front end is loaded right now in a braking zone so the rear is slightly higher then normal (about 3/4")

I beat the **** out of my car every weekend at autocrosses (as well as my co-driver) Plus the roads I travel aren't exactly the smoothest out there.

Trust me, these endlinks are great.

Ohio Has 14 More Counties Meeting Smog Standard

Check out what I found of Fox8's website

Ohio Has 14 More Counties Meeting Smog Standard
By Associated Press Staff Writer
3:43 PM EDT, September 15, 2009

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says 14 more Ohio counties with a history of air pollution now satisfy air quality standards for smog.

The agency has approved a request to designate eight counties in the Cleveland area and six counties in the Columbus area as now meeting federal air quality standards from 1997.

A new, stricter air standard was adopted in 2008 nationally, and it's possible that parts of Ohio and other states will not reach the standard when new federal classifications come out next year.

The counties the EPA approved on Tuesday in the Cleveland area are Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage and Summit.

The counties in the Columbus area are Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Knox, Licking and Madison.
Does this mean that e-checks may be eliminated for us (or most)?

Well, I heard on the radio that these "new" standards that were put into place in 2008 indicate that Ohio still falls short and that the lady from the EPA believes that legislation in Congress this spring, march, will make some for of e-check federal law in all 50 states.

Just changed the oil on Red. Cost about $20 to do myself. Taking the truck to the dealer for an oil change this afternoon. Coupon for $14.95. Go figure.

I hate that... it should be cheaper to do it yourself. I assume most of the cost is in the higher performance oil.

What oil are you running?

I suck at scratches. I just assume let it get worse and worse and then have the car re-painted at some point.

Don't get me started on oil changes. When we closed the deal on the Z I made the mistake of letting She Who Must Be Obeyed sit in on the final paperwork session. You'd think I would've learned my lesson by now, since she always wants to buy all that extra crap they throw at you at the last second (when we got the CX-7 I literally had to tell her to be quiet or leave).

Anyway, the acne scarred child who was their acting finance manager for the day starts in on the Nissan ester based super oil that was "required" for the 370, which was available only from Nissan and which would run about $80 an oil change. We therefore need the service plan. I'm skeptical and mark "reject" on the little form. The wife goes nuts . . . and we end up with the plan, though I negotiated them down to about half of what they wanted to charge us for it and got them to throw in the tire protection plan that they were also pushing.

When we take delivery of the car a few days later I crack open the owner's manual and find that the ester is "recommended" and the only requirement is that an SAE oil be used. Per the 370 site the ester oil is better for engine longevity (not a huge concern - it's a lease) and good for slightly better gas milage. Whoopee.

I also realize my wife is better at business than I thought. The cost of the plan goes into the monthly payment that I make, whereby she would've been paying maintenance out of her pocket.

You can cancel it still Tom with a letter. I ran into the same BS with Mazda on the 8. They just needed a letter signed and me to pay the prorated rates.

It got worse at the dealer, the truck takes 6.1 quarts. The coupon was for 6 quarts. So they charged me $6 more for the extra quart. Then said they would never match that again. So it cost me 20.95 instead of 14.95. I still can't do it for that. Apparently, neither could they. Duh.

Fixed that annoying rattle last night that I had after the midpipe install when I picked up the boat. It appears that there is a metal shield that goes between the driveshaft and exhaust for some reason. I think it was designed to keep crud from getting up into the driveshaft but why it was above the exhaust is beyond me. Anywho...with the help of a persuasion tool and a lift we were able to get it fixed. I have about 1/2" now of clearance so no more annoying rattle for me. Now to find some way of altering the exhaust shrouds to not rattle against the exhaust tips and Ill be all set.
