Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.
Forum virgin
Just picked up my new 2007 8 on Friday and found this forum today. I hope to make it on June 6 at the Boneyard at 7pm and meet some of you all. I could use some pointers on modifications, autoX and track time.
I'm sure you'll get plenty of good info if you swing by. If you can't make it to that there will be a lot of 8s down at mid-ohio on the 21st. While a few people around here have done some minor mods there are even out of Columbus. I think having a dedicated rotary store in town helps push people to mods more down there.
And just a hint on the forum but make sure if you're posting questions elsewhere around here you use the search button.

We sacrifice Virgins (Didn't know there were any left)
Unfortunately, I plan on keeping my stock parts just in case I run in to the same issue you're having now. I've kept every stock part I've ever taken off of any of my cars, just in case. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't want to be in a bad position if I decide to switch to a different intake or go back to stock down the road.
Thanks for the offer Doc... but won't you need those for your install?

Welcome to the RX-8 world. What color did you get and where around town are you located?

I don't know if they have it for all 3 days or just Saturday but if you're coming down let them know on that thread. Johnnyspeed is going as well and I think he's in North Royalton. Come to think of it rt82 is representing pretty well in the RX-8 arena. 2 from North Royalton, 1 from Broadview Hts, 1 from Brecksville, and 1 from Hudson. Must be something in the water.

I think I saw you. I drive the 08 anniv edition. You were going east on 82. I just caught a glimpse. It was a few days ago.......I wondered who it was.
How did your intake installation go?
I'm surprised that the VFAD assembly didn't confuse you... or did you have it all in one piece?

Plus I wanted to get a before-and-after video of my car with and without MazSport's Dual Resonated Midpipe... could have gotten that during a cruise.
Looks like there's finally another Phantom Blue's in town now.
I'm definitely headed down for the Mid-Ohio event. Any interest in joining up to make the trip down?
I attended this weekend's GT Classic at Lime Rock and it was a great time. Interesting track - nearly a mile shorter than Mid-Ohio. I haven't downloaded the photos yet, but if they came out ok I'll try to figure out how to post them here.

I'll go on a drive today if you want, I was thinking about going and looking for that FC and making a run down to Summit racing to get that RP transmission fluid anyways. Give me a call if you want to, right now i'm just heading out to get lunch.

It looks like Joe and I are going to be heading down to Mid-Ohio on the 21st. Anyone else interested in caravanning from this area? Maybe we can meet up with the West side caravan folk somewhere down further south like Lodi or something?

Look for a thread from me later today with all the details. Hopefully there will be enough interest to get another corral down there.
I'm on Cloud 9 guys.....

Marlon was the big guy at the meet at Paninis. He does alot with mazdaspeed motorsports. He's trying to get a corral down at Mid-O for the 20th-22nd of June.
Woot!! Congrats Beth. Although that sucks for me, I get some decent rubber on the car in hopes to do better then my crappy all seasons, and you go and get some R-comps. Looks like I'm gonna have to do a little better behind the wheel to keep up with you now, hehe.
Can't wait to see em on the car at the next event.

As far as caravanning I might be up for it on that Saturday but I'll know closer to the date.
Beth - those are some seriously light wheels. 18lbs? That's sick. And they look good too. Nice.
When are you planning on installing your midpipe? If I can hustle with the roof and get it done, I'd be willing to help out with the video. (The exhaust video....
.....not what you other pervs are thinking....I've also secured the fundage for the intake.
If it rains this weekend, maybe we can meet up to make the exchange. Let me know.
The NE forum guys participated in an event at Lime Rock that was open to all Mazda owners. It involved a meet and greet, some swag, and a lap around the track. I saw a bunch of them walking around with some nice looking Mazdaspeed t-shirts and caps. I'm too lazy to go back and find the thread, but I recall there was someone from the Ohio Mazda 6 group that was involved in setting that up.
As for the RX-8 corral, I was unaware of it. I'll have to go check the thread out.
