Your best bet is to buy the top console piece without the Nav opening but with the Bose opening if you have a Bose center speaker (used from Mazmart, off a for sale thread, or new from a dealer) and then cut it to allow the gauges room. Then either get the Lotek gauge pod (that I have) or get in to the group buy on the adapted Lotek gauge pod. The adapted one is allegedly flush with the rest of the console pieces and is a piano black finish instead of the finish currently on the top piece.

If you need help with the top piece or pulling off the nav I'm sure plenty of people could help. Aside from one bolt in the radio it's pretty easy to take apart the whole console. Pulling the Nav itself might be a little trickier but I'm sure you can find info on how to get it out of there.
would i want to sell the dvd reader or whatever it is in the back too? and if anyone wants to help out it would be much appreciated since i dont know a whole lot as to what im doind.

umm - maybe, probably not... I mean, if you figure out how to get it off, it would be worth posting on here just to see if someone will ****** it up for like 20 bucks.

Sell it as a package. RK is right though, you will need some new trim pieces. I know you talked about gauges, this would be when to look into those. RK also has his gauges mounted up there.

Dig through the for sale threads and you'll see what all is included in a factory nav package.

It's got a hitch, but I don't think it's big enough to pull a car trailer on a regular basis.

4x4 crew cab. 91K miles. Has a cap on the back.

I pulled the trigger today on tires (Dunlop Zed SS), wheels (Kazera KZ-J) and brake pads (RacingBrake ET 500).

She Who Must Be Obeyed dropped a bundle on landscaping, and I felt obliged to match her.

+1 on the size wheels and the tires size while we're at it.

Very curious how the RB ET 500s work for you. I've seen some reviews. Sounds like a good DD pad and if you ever get into track pads you can swap them out with the better RacingBrakes.

The Kazeras are 18x8.5. The Dunlops are standard 225/45 ZR-18.

Ryan, I actually went back and forth a bit with RacingBreak about the pads. I was leaning toward the ET700's. The 500 series was obviously the better bet since most of my driving is on the street, but they were pretty comfortable that they are also perfectly appropriate for light track (i.e., newb level HPDE a few times/year). We'll see. The old ones are nearing the end of their life cycle in any event so it was time.

Now I just need someone to help me pop them in when they arrive.

Welcome to the club Ryan.
This forum is a wealth of information so make sure you use the 'search' feature to learn about something before starting a new thread, or feel free to come here (local thread) and ask since we tend to be more gentle to the newbies.

I give everyone an equal chance, its how they present themselves that dictates how well we'll "click" together in the beginning.

Oh and Jon, I "may" have Steve beat on speeding tickets.

5 in one year, and I'm currently on probation and a 30 day suspended jail sentence because of it. If I get another ticket I go to jail

Yeah, I'm at 3 tickets since June... I think I can leg it out until June before I get another.

Also, had a few people ask me about the winter wheels - So I'm going to post pics here first before going into the abyss that is the greater forum.

I haven't decided on price, I'm flexible though. PM me.

Also, if you haven't seen it, check of my "Good Guy" Thread!

Kazera KZ-X - 17x7.
Jon - if you could help me out and post the tire sizes, that would be good.

welcome to the Club Ryan. I'm the guy your buddy's has been talking with on the NT site. gratz on your 8. welcome to the addiction. You won't find a better place to ask questions, get help or just shoot the ****. One recommendation: don't ever broach the topic of politics on this site... trust me on this. LOL i got banned for 3 days because i made a response to someone else's political comment and was immediately tanked 3 days. i think i was an active member for no more than a month and hadn't even broke 30 posts when it happened.

So if you should see anyone on here refer to someone as "Banned", their either talking to or about me. Hey, i wear the tag with pride. was damned funny.

TJ - If you sell your nav hood and have some time I will be out your way on Friday if you want to pull it. I would suggest selling everything to whomever buys it and let them just use the piece that they want. Without the hood the rest of the system is useless.

Not a newb. Suck it up.

At least you're not getting attacked across the site for daring to be upset buying something that doesn't work as promised. Dwell settings FTL!
