Well since a certain vendor wants to screw me I have a second AEM intake laying around now. Brand new, in box and blue. Anyone want it? I'm thinking 260? Hell, I'll even deliver it to you!
Yeah, should be able to. Might not be a lightning fast turn around, but bring it friday to the meet and I can probably have someone get to the next week.
John: we really did everything the same on that we did on yours... could be the different midpipe??? I don't know, we can look friday. Just bring your netbook then also and I'll check it out then.

Anyway it will be there friday, but if I took it off I would have some issues getting home seeing as that pipe connects to my throttle body.
If you convince me an AEM intake is worth having i will buy it.
btw, im looking at doing a greddy turbo as well this summer. "Zoom zoom pshhhhhh"
any chance i can get a ride in your car before i drop the cash?

Sure thing, an AEM is probably one of the first mods you will want to do if you get a Greddy turbo on the car, it basically bolts right up to the existing piping. Even if you don't go for the turbo the AEM is great eye candy. You going to be at the meet on the 24th?
if you want true eye candy, get the new Injen intake.
That looks pretty good... are their cut lines when you roll the windows down or anything?
From people that have had tint and had it done poorly, what are the things to look for in poor workmanship? I know bubbles and such, but beyond that?

I am disappointed in my tint job for 2 reasons.
1) The rear window has cuts for the defroster lines. I don't know if this was done to prevent bubbling or what not down the road but they are damn annoying at night.
2) Both of my front windows have this flame type look on the bottom of them where there are oils between the tint and glass. Depending on how they handle it I may be getting new tint.

It's definitely the best aftermarket intake for an NA car for someone planning on tuning (or planning on going turbo). It will sound more aggressive at high RPMs but is still relatively quiet at lower RPMs. Gains are reportedly the same as most intakes.
Downsides are that it is the opposite of a stealth mod, Racing Beat's solution is generally considered better performing if you're staying NA and not self-tuning, and you're now going to have blue in your engine which means from now on you're going to want more things with blue throughout the engine.
Ok so that last one isn't much of a downside.

i havent rolled the windows down yet. not really supposed to for 3 days. but i do know he runs the tint down below the opening and pretty close to the edge... actually, she does.

I saw my first '09 on the roads today. There was a black one going South on 77 this morning just past Harvard. Looks good.

5 years huh... my car will be stolen or wrecked by then!

But if it's an auto then screw 'em.
Since you're 5 min from me... you could bring it to the shop and I can see if I can have it done by friday...
Yes, but actually been considering the Borla exhaust. really like the sound of it.
then warranty duration is moot. lol. just get some NiteShade and spray your windows. You're all set!
Actually, does anyone have a can of the stuff? was considering darkening my brake light to kind of smooth out the hatch. Not sure i want to do the tails. did that to my tib. looked good but i think i like the 8's tails enough to not mess with them like that.

I don't have any but I did have a question. When did they make an RX-8 with a hatch? Is there more cargo room? If so I may trade up as my lack of trunk space is disturbing.
ps: lol
