Ok, who passed me on 90/2 and got off at 91 this afternoon? It was a TiGrey and I got the 'rock on' hand sign when he drove by?

Stevie Ray.......Nice....Brings back memories....

I was at my dentist's office this afternoon too. No jamming out to anything but soft rock crap. At least it made me sleepy while they put the filling in.

Followed up Stevie Ray with a little BB King and Eric Clapton (Ridin with the King). Cool, man, cool.

So an update to my current headache (known also as the emanage). The AEM that doc sold me (thanks Doc!) helped my running rich issue. However instead of running very rich, the car now runs kinda rich and the idle is still acting weird.

Further investigation revealed the emanage is failing to read my tac right. At around 1000 actual rpm, the emanage shows 5000 causing the emanage to dump a ton of fuel in at idle and cut fuel around 4000.

I cannot figure out why this would occur, the only explanation I have is my emanage is boned. I switched the car to NA temporarily and found the car to run very well. I think my only option at this point is to remove the turbo until I have the cash to afford a flash tuner, and then reinstall. I am very not happy about the situation, but this does happen when you buy used parts. Thankfully the kit is mechanically sound, just the engine management is screwed.

Well, considering the nature of turbo kits and everything that could possible go wrong, I think that isn't too bad.

Still isn't cool, though. I don't know anything about making these cars FI...

The C6C uses Bullitt. I had him do it and he did a really good job. I'll have to get you the number from home, or DB might have it. I was very pleased with his work.

I went with the street legal tint (50%) I'd go darker if I did it again. It's not dark enough. I think most people go 35%. I would recommend that. I just didn't want to go beyond legal because Beachwood has a light meter and checks tint on traffic stops.

(I'm not recommending anyone break any law or drive at excessive speed or make their car too dark or drink to excess or cuss or anything else. Looking forward for the moth to this flame.)

Not from me, my windows are legal on the 8 but I have 20% all around on my lancer. Personally I wish I would have hit 35% on my front sides on my 8 as well, 50% isn't very good.

Also, Horizon did mine a few years ago for about 200 in North Canton. Wasn't too bad of a job.

Well... I am already running catless without a front plate... might as well have illegal tint too...

it'll go well with the pound of weed I have in my trunk... oh hey Danc!

Seriously though... we talked about this before and I guess horizon has done an awful job on some of the cars here. (Meg)

I guess I'll email the bullitt guy.

For those on the east side, Solar Solutions in Mentor has done a couple of cars for me in the past and the charge was $260. The work they did was flawless and they've got a good reputation in the area. Eventually I'll get my 8 done there too.

It's just hard parting with $260 at the moment, especially when tint doesn't make you go any faster...

Wait, I thought you had the mobile meth lab in there? I can barely fit a weeks worth of groceries in my normally empty trunk, so I know it's got to be impossible to have all of that stuff in yours. Maybe you should start thinking about trading the 8 for a different vehicle, like say an Astro Van or an '84 Cutlass Supreme.

i think that's going to be your best bet. thanks for reminding me. i need to get my car in. saturdays they are only open `til noon. just fyi and they book pretty fast for saturdays since only open for 4 hours.

price is 189 - 229 (2 dr / 4dr prices) they said the 8 though would most likely price out as a 2 door

I did 35% on my tib and i always wished i'd gone darker. it was a black car as well. figured that the 35 would "look darker" since the car was black. cops never gave me grief about it though and used to live near a sheriff's dept when i had my tib. hell i even stopped by one day to ask them about my tail lights being tinted (of course i asked AFTER i got them done) and legal. the four who were on duty came out to see and all loved what i'd done with the car. no one had a gripe about any thing. If i were to be busted about tint being too dark, i can't imagine any better place to do so than to willingly go to a sheriff's dept and tell them "i think i'm illegal. what do you think?"

But i am kind of on the fence about whether to do 20% in the rears and back window and 35% in the front or simply 20 the whole way around. hmm

The problem with 20% is it's very difficult to see in your mirrors at night. I have 20% on red racer and I have to roll the windows down to back into the garage. Of course I'm old and can't see stuff anyways. I'd stick with 35%.

I'm probably going to go with 50% on the front windows and 35% on the rest. I've fallen prey to the tint violation ticket in the past, so I'd like to stay legal. I'd rather not unwillingly donate another $150 to the WHPD.

Have you seen my 8? I did that and I think the two different shades look terrible. The 50% is very very light.

No I haven't, and by the way it sounds we won't be seeing it either! Sorry, I know that was low.

Anyhow, I demand pics!

And BTW, why would you worry about your tint anyway since you practically have a get out of jail free card?

Well you may see it yet, I only got two hours of sleep and I had a stroke of genius. I apparently fixed the tach with some creative wiring and my logs are showing what they should be showing finally. Of course the car is running NA at the moment and hauling *** over and over heated up the car real good so I can't reconnect the turbo to the engine at the moment. But! it looks like it may run correctly yet.

I'll get some pics here in a few, in advance I know my garage is a mess.

I had posted up some pics of mine some pages back.

50% front sides

35% rear doors and rear window.

It actually looks pretty good especially considering how light my interior is. I had to stay on the legal side though, one less thing the cops pull me over for the better. hehe

Lemme go dig for them again

EDIT: pictarz

Thanks for digging around for those. While the 50% does look light, it's better than a tint violation ticket. I've also got a dark interior too, so that might help out a bit.
