Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.
Hey doc... I just wanted to verify that you received the VFAD and the fresh air duct (the pipe that runs behind your bumper).
Don't want you to go through all the trouble just to find out that you don't have what is required to utilize the airbox.
And FYI... the VFAD air line goes to a nipple that hangs down from the intake manifold... just after the throttle body. There should be a plug that was installed for the aftermarket intake.
Good luck!

Thanks for the warning. I'll look for that.
I'll lay it all out and compare the other car to be sure I've got all the pieces parts. The guy I bought it from said it was all there. but we know how that goes......

OK, guys. I opened the box. It appears everything is there, but one of the places where the hoses attach is broken.
I'm really intimidated. Is this thing as hard as it looks to put back on, or is it not that bad.
I really would like to have it put back together for Sunday's Autocross.
If this is too much to handle, any suggestions on somebody to do it. Any idea what dealer will charge to install.

LOL... its not that intimidating (once you do it). The only confusing part could be the VFAD. Did the whole VFAD assembly come all together or are the hoses, solenoid, vacuum chamber separate.
One thing I will say.. I highly doubt the dealer will be able to get you in, swap the intake, and have the car back to you before Sunday. Plus I'm not sure what they will charge for it. We will take care of you Doc... just need to find a good date for us.
Looking at your pic Doc, the three hoses going to your intake (remember the three I questioned on your current setup) go to those fittings. If there is a "broken hose" attached, that was from the previous owner (don't know why he would have done that). I would just remove the hose and use your own.
Oh wow... I overlooked that!
And I don't see the solenoid (its silver (I believe) with a green **** that turns 90 degrees) and its just after the vacuum chamber (which is the cylinder device).

Attached is the solenoid I was referring to.
You'll notice a green harness plugged into it (which is probably zip tied somewhere off to the side).
I believe this connection is the green **** I was referring to in my previous statement.
Its honestly been YEARS since I've looked at it. I'm working until 6am, but when I get home I'll pull out everything (I'm better help when I can visually see everything).
If you are missing anything... I'll take care of you!

Welcome to the club neolowrider!
I honestly don't know of a place around the Youngstown area that is recommended. Cascade Mazda in Cuyahoga Falls appears to be one of the choice picks around the Akron/Cleveland area... but thats quite a drive for you.
If nobody responds, I would suggest going around to the different dealers around Youngstown and see who gives you the best treatment, then let us know! Don't just stick to the 1st one you visit.

Hey Jon,
Didn't you have an air intake you were gonna sell to Tony? If he hasn't taken it yet, can I get the parts I need from you, until I can pickup another unit? The I can replace them. Or if he isn't taking it, can I buy it from you?
The good news is I contacted the guy I bought it from and he refunded my money. All I'm out is the shipping. Seems fair.

Well Doc... the intake Tony wants to buy from me is the AEM intake... which is the same design as your MS intake.
I just started pulling out my intake components, but couldn't find the VFAD assembly. I'll keep searching for those.

If you still have it... great, we can work with that (as long as you have the VFAD solenoid).
I'll keep searching for my VFAD assembly in case you don't
