Akron/Cleveland 8 Owners.
Hey guys... Are there any aftermarket performance shops in the area that you would trust to do work on your RX8? I get my bonus in June, and I'm thinking of going FI. Also what's the word on body shops for painting/installing body kits?

I'd be in for sure. But why don't we make it somewhere like Peninsula @ the Lizard or something? It's half way between Cle and Akr and there are some decent roads in the area. I mean no offense, but why would I want to go downtown in an RX8? Rather take it somewhere with some curves

I think that there are some rotary shops in southern Ohio, but it would be nice to find a local shop that can be trusted. I'm not trusting anyone local with my baby and would gladly drive the extra (and extra) mile for a reliable shop.
Just curious Jonnyspeed, which FI are you going with and what are you looking at spending?
Have you been reading the FI threads to get an idea what you are getting yourself into?

Yea...I can't think of any speed shops around here that I would trust with an 8. Not that none of them do good work, just none that I know of that have done 8's. A buddy of mine is getting his Rustang back from a shop out this way. I'll have him call them later and see if they know anything about 8's, I doubt it though.
As for Peninsula...how did Gabriel put it..."I'm down". *nod* *nod* *nod*

I'd be down for meeting up with you all sometime. I won't be back in Hudson again until the beginning of May. So if you guys end up meeting before then hopefully i'd be able to catch up on the next time around.

Let's make it official.
Get Together Friday, May 2 at Peninsula Winking Lizard.

That should be far enough in advance people can make plans. BTW, Tony said he's buying
All are welcome!!!
First one there grab a table and mark it so we know who you are!

That's right! All the tap water you can drink! I decided not to eat for the entire next week so I can afford the $120 to run at Nelson Ledges on April 18th. It's actually a two-fold benefit: Not only will I have the money to go, but I'll also weigh 120lbs less which means I'll be able to go faster!

The May 2nd one I believe I can so i look forward to seeing you guys there.
Those of you that wanted to take your car up to Cascade Mazda can schedule an appointment that day since its only 5 miles away from Winking Lizard.
Too bad the shop is not open that late... just have the shuttle take you to and from Winking Lizard.
Anyway... I should be there May 2nd

Yea...I don't get out of the office until 7 and I assume that the guys from work won't go without me. I also know that ProChargerGT thinks that we won't be able to keep up with him through the park. HA! So let us know.
Hey all - Local Question: Has anyone taken their 8's with Bose to any Stereo Shops that know what they're doing? I have been going to Century 2000 in Akron for years; have they done any work on anyones 8's in here?
The first step would be Subs... Function over fashion for sure... 2 10's would be ideal if they were able to do so while leaving a functional trunk (golf clubs or hockey bag must still fit)
And then from there... probably upgraded speakers all the way around.

Can't help you much there besides offer up some subs and an amp that I need to get rid of. As long as you know what you are getting yourself into you should be able to get pretty much anyone to do the work for you. If you respect that shop for other work you should be able to provide the info from the Audio forum to them to get it done if they don't know how. Basically you need a LOC between the HU and the Bose amp if you have one and then run the signal to your amp. If you don't have a Bose install you can just pull it from the speakers in the trunk.
What a beaitiful area! I'm looking forward to the second of May!

Right...which is why the LOC goes between the HU and the AMP and not the AMP and speaker. btw...in case you missed it in the audio forum...after installing my iPod adapter I didn't feel the need to throw subs in the car anymore. If you are going to show up on May 2 I'll be glad to let you give it a listen. Maybe you too can save a couple hundred bucks.

Oh well.
