Just got my car put back together... took just over an hour taking my time.
This entire month spent removing/installing the intake manifold extension, throttle body, coil bracket, and coils on mine and others helped make this go smooth and quick.
I learned a few shortcuts with some hard to reach bolts and nuts.

I'm happy to say that the car started without any issues (besides the coolant light came on for roughly 10 seconds since I had the line disconnected at the throttle body).

I kept the throttle body off while I installed the coils and the install seemed much easier that way (see attached pic).
Now the BHR coils are bulkier so we'll see how the install goes with those.
But I recall the wire harnesses were a PITA on Ryan's car, but can be easily reached with the TB off (even though the TB doesn't stick out THAT far).

Not much room at all and the nuts holding the bracket down could only be installed by using your two index fingers to get it started (and hope you don't drop it into the abyss).
Yup. And Jon is definitely the guy to do that. Because when I dropped a nut it vanished (well, ok, the second time I dropped it).

When Jon dropped one it came right out the tire well.

I've got scratches all over my arm from having to reach in/around/through everything in my engine bay.

We did get a misfire the first time we started it back up but that was likely just the computer relearning the dwell/trim settings. I took it around the block once after that and it does feel smoother when accellerating. Butt dyno couldn't tell me a whole lot though since I hadn't gotten in the car in 2+ months.

My plugs were pretty hosed even though I'd only had them since April - and Westside used the exact same plugs BHR sent me.

I think I could have eventually done it without Jon but when I say eventually I mean I'd probably be heading over there this morning to finish up rather than having it done by 6 PM last night.

Looks a lot roomier without it. Really once you took apart the wire housing in the bottom right of your pic getting the coils in and out were a lot easier. And even the nuts were at least possible to get back on the BHR coils.

Funny that you mention that...
While installing everything this morning, I was tightening the two bolts under the intake manifold extension and dropped my wrench into the abyss.
I found where my abyss is.... the lower control arm!
I could only see about 10% of my wrench, but managed to reach down there and felt around until I could get it with two fingers.

Goes well with the red dash board. Puddles aren't as bright as I would have expected and I had to cut the wires in. Those stupid wire clips didn't work.

Is it possible to ever open those plastic clips without breaking them. Sheesh.

Got to run both cars for a good while.

How'd it go for you guys?
Glad you finally fot 'em in there. Timing sounds pretty close to what I had too. And in addition to screwing up a few of the clips I also scratched my door with a screwdriver during one of my muscling sessions.

I never got the wire clips to work. I just ended up stripping both ends of the wires, wrapping them, and then putting electrical tape over them.

And they're not bright but oddly enough I've had a few people compliment them when they're getting into my car.

Looks like you guys had some serious fun.

Yes, I know I need to contact my dentist. Can't you make a house call? Mayfield road is pretty far from canton.

So make the appointment at the end of the day. Beer stops make the trip shorter!

Damn it... I flooded my engine!
Not my RX8... but my damn snow blower!
I pulled out the plug and it was dripping wet.
Maybe I should pour some washer fluid in there.

Uhhhhh, it's 50 degrees outside. Why are you running your snowblower?

Hey guys, we talked about getting together on the 16th. Haven't talked about it much. Anybody interested in getting together?

Yeah... just making sure it runs before the snow hits (and while the weather is warm).
It struggles with the choke completely off, so I'll have to buy new plugs for it.

I'm up for that... could use a break from moving (which we'll probably be doing the next couple weekends).

Sebring that week so I'm out.

Besides I'm only in if everyone promises to not drive their 8s. Otherwise I get jealous and depressed. Unless it's a snowstorm and they get stuck leaving. vb

Im down for the 16th. Can I vote for a real restaurant this time though? Im just getting tired of the endless list of bars I think. Sushi Rock was a good change of pace I think but nobody went so maybe Im in the minority here.

I'm ok with a restaurant, but I'll be bringing my pit crew. So it's got to be kid friendly and less expensive than sushi rock was.

Have a suggestion???

What about just meeting at some chain style place? Outback, Fridays, etc? I got some gift cards for Christmas to those places I could use. I normally don't go there too much, but they're more restaurants than bars which I'm guessing is the idea.

Jon: If you need a hand moving, let me know. I move furniture a lot better than I hold onto bolts.

There's an Outback at 77 and Rockside. That's sorta halfway between John and you guys???? Or we can drop down to Fairlawn??

yea...some place like Outback or Fridays was more the idea. Halfway is closer to somewhere on Route 8 for me and Billy Joe Bob Franky Steve. There is an Outback at 271 and 8. Is that more central for everyone?

The first week I'll be moving all the little stuff we don't really use.
The "final" move would be the larger items so I could use help then.
I'll let you know when that is for sure... might be next weekend.

271 and 8 does appear to be the central place for everyone.
I'm fine with that.

I don't do Fosters. And Jon doesn't do Guiness. You don't do anything without a tiny umbrella. I'm off the hook!

I also don't do onions so the idea of me getting one that is blooming is pretty funny.
