St Louis area 8 owners
Sadly I won't be able to make the autocross this coming Sunday. Although the following weekend I'd be up for a garage day. I can host it in Wentzville for those interested. I am needing to do the diff/trans and an oil change. I might also be doing a front shock swap soon, but we'll see about that one.
Assuming I get my car back from the dealer tomorrow I'll be good for a garage day this weekend. All I need to know is who will be there and what day (Saturday or Sunday) works best for everyone. If we get done early we can hit Buffalo Wild Wings or somewhere else for a meal and beer.
What a coincidence; I took my car in today for a bunch of stuff and should have it back tomorrow. I already have the Red Line gear oil to swap into my car... I should be good for this weekend as well. I work @ 5pm on Sunday, though.
Ferret, we'll put your vote down for Saturday.
I won't be able to make the actual garage portion, but let me know or I will call you Waterlogged after the Cardinal game is over to meet up with you guys. Going to both Saturday and Sunday's games. I would prefer Saturday.
Yeah, I didn't get any gear oil for myself since I was waiting to see what was up w/ my car. I didn't want to buy stuff that was going to get replaced with the clutch install. I still have to replace a body panel and possibly do the trans/diff swap if I can find it in time. Let's shoot for Saturday afternoon at 1:30. For those that don't remember how to get there or have never been to my sister's in Wentzville let me know and I'll PM you with directions.
This ok w/ everyone?
Also, fisherdn... can you bring another set of jack stands if you have some? If not can anyone else bring another set?

^^^actually i may have parked by you tonight? were you parked in the garage on campus around 5 or 5:30ish? i have been lookin for some guys to get together up here and i cant find anyone...the only 8's i have seen up here are the shinka i parked by tonight and a yellow 8 that i see every once in a while at the little restraunt/bar at the corner of stadium and old 63. but i am deff up for getting together.
Wasn't me. I didn't realize we had another '05 Shinka in Columbia. I wonder if they are on the forum. We should get a meet and greet going for around here. I keep trying to get to one in either KC or STL but have never been free on the dates they happen.
Hey Everyone. Ok, so I'm moving here really soon and I have some RX8 parts I'd like to sell to someone local. I live in Shiloh/Belleville IL and I have 4 stock rims that are in perfect condition. All 4 still have tires wrapped around them only one of the tires is bad and needs to be replaced. I'll sell em at a very fair price to the first person that wants them. You'll need money and a way to come get them. They are all in a box too.
Also, I have a stock front bumper from my car that I'd like to sell. It's Red in color, but you can paint it any color you like and it's in perfect condition.
I've removed the stock air filter from my car and kept all the parts for that too, so if anyone thinks they need that, it's also available.
Please email me if you're at all interested, I'd like to sell all this stuff to local rx8 owners. If you want to buy any of this stuff, just send me an email and a phone number with your name and I'll call you and we can talk price and I'll tell you my address.
Thanks everyone.

Damn there are so many RX8s around here, way more than when I lived in Atlanta... I've seen couple of damn good looking ones too. Kudos.
I'm talking about South County, Mehlville area in case someone was wondering. haha

Boondock... online is usually your best bet for aftermarket stuff. What are you looking for?
As far as paint/decals... I'm not certain off-hand, but I know a lot of the Suby/Honda guys like to stickerfy their cars, so you could check on their forums.

BTW, I promised a couple folks at the autocross this past weekend that I'd post an example of one of my on-car videos... so here's the link to the thread to grab it: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...29#post2483529
Wow. Its good to see this thread come alive. It seemed to have died this winter.

Another similar online retailer to Tire Rack is discounttiredirect.com. Tires and wheels are cheaper than you'd find at your local NTB/AutoTire at both places.
Another place to check for those hard to find wheels is vividracing.com. I've never gotten anything from them but have been referred there in the past.
If you're looking for a lightweight wheel... let me know. I've been doing all kinds of research on the subject.
As far as wheelsnext.com... I've never heard of them, but that doesn't mean anything. On first look, it looks like a place to get your "bling" rims or cheap replicas of a more expensive rim. But if that doesn't bother you, then go for it!
One bit of advice before you buy a rim, find someone else with that rim/size and see how they like it, if it fits well, and if it fits then get the offsets they are using. Offset makes or breaks a rim's look/performance.
Hope this helps!
It really depends on what you're looking for and your budget when it comes to wheels. If you're looking for a stock replacement wheel to fit existing rubber on or up to a 245 width tire, then I'd first look at TireRack.com. They also have suggested sizes if you're into a staggered setup. But wait... there's more! You can also sample what the rims will look like on your car online. They offer free mounting/balancing also if you buy a tire/wheel package. You can also get all the specs for the wheels (offset, weight, bolt pattern, etc).

Wow what a response!! Thanks for all the help though its much appreciated. As far as rims go I'm not that big on brand name so long as I like the look of it. But I didnt know that offsets could affect how they fit. Does it affect handling??
