that's what I needed to know. I PMed that guy a while ago and he never responded. I think I might go ahead and get that filter so it gets here before next week.

hey modena, you going to the autocross on the 9th?

to all: my girlfriend is probably going to be there so make sure that you all talk about your 8's a lot so i look less crazy by comparison (she thinks I'm obsessed and I always tell her that at least I'm not as crazy as some of the people online; ie: the show and shine people)

I have my old airbox at home and I can measure it later if you want a for-sure measurement.

That would be great! Thanks! The apexi says it has a 80 mm flange (which I think is the peice of rubber that would connect it to the MAF area) and I converted it from that commie metric system to good old stubborn american system and it comes out to be 3.1 inches so that should fit right?

Sorry about the pseudo-political comments I know I'm about as funny as Murphy Brown but I can't resist

Nothing a file and duct tape or zip ties couldn't fix!

I would say the 8th is really the only day we can do the intakes since they most likely won't be in this weekend. This weekend I need to finish a couple of open projects I have on the car (ipod hardwiring and cleaning of the interior).

All day? What happened? Couldn't get the hangers back on or the bolts behind the midpipe act up? (by midpipe I mean catalytic converter)

Waterlogged how are you hardwiring your iPod? I am looking ot do that soon and the part I was looking at is about $120. It allows you to control the IPod from the steering wheel, charges it, and gives you a 1/8" in or video out connection: http://www.therpmstore.com/product_i...roducts_id=142

If you have something better let me know.

I bought a leather Kuda mounting platform and I love it. Looks classy and keeps the look that I was going for and is sturdy. http://www.kudausa.com/kuda_mount_an...04-24-230.html

I got the old exhaust out and the new one in all the way till the 2 bolts b/w the midpipe and cat in about an hour and a half or 2 hours, which I was happy with doing it alone and never having done it before. Those 2 bolts took me HOURS because they didn't line up right. It was rx7store exhaust, so I'm not sure if it was a fitment issue or what... Eventually I had to get a small spring compressor to compress down those springs so I could reach the thread with the nuts. But its on now and it sounds and looks great!

Haha... yep. That's what I was referring to. The more miles you have on your car the more of a P.I.T.A. those two bolts are. I doubt it was a fitment issue from the exhaust manufacturer. That's just a strange connection. Glad you got it without busting a bolt.

The AudioLink is great if you don't already have the Sirius module installed. I have it so I went with the Tape/Aux-in adapter. I don't get the luxury of the controls on the steering wheel, but at least it's not RF. Then, in keeping with my "stocker" look I ran the cable under the center console and into the cup holder area. This weekend I need to trim the cable and attach that to a terminal inside the cupholder for easy removal and "jacking in".

We are all meeting Sunday July 9th 7:00 - 7:30am at Gateway. Waterlogged will hopefully post directions and times and info again. (if you read through the post you can get the info as well). We had a blast the last time at the autocross.

Not sure I will be running yet, but the autocross sounds like a good possibility. Still want to get a few more miles on the car.
