Ah, speaking of shifting... I installed the short-shifter at lunch today. Woohoo, only one day late!!

During lunch, huh? That just sounds weird. "So Waterlogged, what did you have for lunch?" "Man...I had a large coke, a short shifter and a side of fries. Really hit the spot."

Actually it was a #3 from McD's, a 10mm socket wrench, and a shifter.

Btw, I hope you're rev-matching that shift to 3rd. If you get the jet engine sound you might not be.

Hey Waterlogged how long was your lunch? Do you think it will make that much of a difference on the track? Are you going to try and get up to 3rd gear? As for oil Teretsboy you can always ring out the inside of the next helmet before you put it on. Good luck at Harrah's tonight. BaseballGenius look forward to meeting you on the 9th. I won't tell you the reasons we imagined why you did not show...... One involved a goat and Heidi Klum....Ha

Nah, pretty doubtful she'll get back into racing. Although she WOULD give you guys a run for your money.

The main reason for the short shifter is for cleaner, more precise shifts. As it stands now I usually just throw the car in second and keep it there. There's no chance I'll ever get to 3rd gear in an autocross, but sometimes it might call for a 1st gear downshift. Hell, I have even been grinding from first to second. I can tell you all this... the days of grinding gears are over!

How does the shifter feel? Is it worth it? Are you going to get that supercharger once your warrantee is up?

The shifter feels more precise than ever. I've only been driving with it for a day now, but I haven't come close to missing a shift. It's a slight bit stiffer than stock, but I like it because it gives you that extra bit of feedback to know where you are when doing a quick shift.

I've had that shifter for a few months now and I know I couldn't go back. It is unbelievably precise and quick. I definitely recommend it.

On a side note, and sorry to break up the flow, but any st louis guys know of any jobs around here for a recent SLU grad (management degree) with sales experience? I more than appreciate any help.

Carry on, thanks.

Hey Fish,

Check this out: http://express-scripts.com/ourcompany/careers/
Select Opportunities at Express Scripts, then St. Louis for the region and All for jobs. Let me know if you have any difficulty. This is the company I work for, however, I am in IT.

Waterlogged is the short shifter a mazda speed part or an aftermarket?

No mods yet. Probably wont do anything to void the waranty, so mianly just Mazdaspeed parts. Shocks for sure, probably springs, exhaust...who knows. First thing is tinting...lol...my first black car.

Hehe... it's a custom made aftermarket piece. Not sure if Mazdaspeed makes one or not. I will tell you that it's definitely of good quality and would most likely not void your warranty. Some dealers even think it's cool when you mod the car. I know the folks at Bommarito tend to be pretty cool about it as long as it's nothing like a turbo or something that would directly affect a warrantable item.

I actually bought mine from Bommarito St. Peters. They have been the best I've ever delt with by far.

Nothing happened I just did not want to advertise for them. I'd rather my Shinka have no stickers on it. Or at least stickers that I wanted on the vehicle.
