AutoX made me fall in love with my car again.... I officially love it. I ended up 4th in my class, but was 7 seconds off the fastest car, which was a Pontiac solstice on Sticky tires. You guys seriously need to do this.

 

I planned on coming out today, but yesterday my car started making a weird knocking sound, which I think is the tie rod ends not for sure yet gonna check it out tomorrow. And also I didnt get off work until 2 so woulda been dumb.

I wanna do the next one though.

 

I won't be racing, but I will be at the next one. Surgury sucks. But you should definitely come out.

 

My brother came into town yesterday, so I was not able to go.

 

I ended up not going to CoMo because my buddy couldnt get out of work, suck.

So ive been thinking about selling the 8, IDK I want something more possibly a Cobra or like a late 90s Corvette, of course right now im just dreaming about it and actually doing that may not happen.

 

man you fickle owners are worse then the fickle motor in the RX8
you need to drive that damn car the way it is meant to be driven and you'll remember why it is better then a cobra. a cobra has straight line speed over the 8 obviously but the fun is in the twisties.

 

If you do decide to sell the car Adam, not that you should, I may be interested in some of your parts. But you should definitely stick to the 8.

 

Anybody have any 17 X 9 wheels that you are thinking of selling send me a PM I might be interested. Thinking of going down to 17's for my autox tires when I need new tires.

 

I having weird issues now with my 8 after the battery died on me last week from lights on, must have hit the switch getting out? Problem now is that most of the time I try to start the car the key just turns and nothing happens, but dash works. Then some times I try to start it will do it first try. I'm having to keep returning the key to finally get the starter to turn on, and a few times it is a good start with no problems.

 

try unhooking the battery again and pressing the brake to fully drain the system then hooking it back up the low voltage may have messed something up and resetting it may fix it.

 

also maybe the clutch switch is going out and it just happened to choose now.

 

also if your clutch bracket is getting weak you may not be making contact with the switch in which case you can bend the tab on the back of the clutch pedal and it will fully compress switch thereby triggering the ignition, I had to deal with this when I reinforced my clutch bracket.

 

Sorry it is a auto. I'll try the battery thing tomorrow.

What times it start cole? I wouldnt mind coming out.

On a side note I finally fixed the popping noise ive been having and I got my clear corners in the mail finally.

Now time to order an exhaust gasket and get oils for the tranny and diff.

 

Yeah Jo, well, it's close to Wood River. It's the Roxana Park Car Show, but Wood River and Roxana literally are the same town.

I think they like the cars to be out there by 10, but I will get the info for you for sure Adam.

 

Anyone know of a good place to go to, or willing to help me get my tail lights working? Fuse is good.

I am just no sure if it is connection issues or something else. HID lights turn on, but tail lights will not always turn on. Not to reliable to drive at night.

I will be in St. Louis tonight.

Adam, I may be working some of the time I am there. Last year I had to work the concession stand, so I'm not sure how much I would be around. I'm not sure if that changes your mind at all.

I was painting my side strakes black today, and the screw broke off inside 2 of them. So I will try to get them out tomorrow, or I am out 2 of my fender strakes. Also, my emblems are now blacked out.

 

Saw a nice 8 yesterday at Bommarito. Yellow with a wing and many manufacture decals.
