So I raced a tiburon tonight. I'm pretty damn sure the 8 should be faster but it was dead even. I'm thinking he either had it nodded somewhat well or either my engine has low compression.

Charlie I would buy that off you but since I'm going to get my compression test pretty soon like 4000 miles I may as well wait so I don't gotta take it off right away.

 

just too much for you man? you have the ap dual resonator right? might think about a quieter catback since the midpipe is gonna be most of your power gain .

 

yea paired with the exotic speed it was too much it woke up my entire building whenever it turned on got a lot of complaints... and it was just a headache... maybe a quieter midpipe rb? if it is i dunno but yea adam no rush just lmk bro... Not getting rid of the exoticspeed I Love that catback...

 

i thought the ap was the quieter of the two midpipes. other option would be the rp supercat will still flow better then stock cat but will quiet it down alot

 

thats probably the best option Ill prolly pick one of those up. It was really just too much for a daily driven car

 

How much did it end up costing for the dyno at lowe's? Also I have a question about the high flow mid pipes, Do any of them allow u to use your sensor and not light up a cel? I could add one to my exhaust I'm putting together in the near future.

 

I went in on a group special for ~$50. I think they normally charge $75; it's been awhile since going.

 

oh charlie i know its expensive but the BHR midpipe doesnt add much sound just the hp gains and is single res. their forum shows the low increase in sound with their midpipe =) ;;;maybe something to check into

 

How much would you want for your midpipe? and what kind is it?
I have been thinking about getting one anyway, and just running a midpipe with the stock exhaust.

Has anyone seen/heard of 4 Car Option exhaust for the 8? It's 199 on eBay and there's a YouTube vid were a 300zx has it on. Doesn't sound bad.

 

Never have heard of it, but if I were you I would most likely stick to some of the more known exaust around here beacuse you always get what you pay for.

Theres a guy that works at Speed & Sound that has a nice looking 8 that has the SE, I havent heard it yet though just seen it. Im not much of a fan of the place really since they try to BS people like most places.

How many of you will be driving your RX-8 completely through winter? I'll be throwing on my WinterSport shoes once the first cold snap happens.

I work Sun-Thurs 1500-2300, so we'll have to work around that if you want me to show up.

 

Unfortunatly I will be driving mine completly through winter. I do have the advantage of being able to use the parents car if there is snow though. So my goal is to not let it touch the roads when theres ice all over them.
NO SNOW would be amazing this is the first year ive ever wanted that.

 

This is my last week of football, so that will help free some time up. But I go to the Iowa football games whenever they are home on saturdays, so those are spotty.

I will also be driving mine through the winter.. Sadly.

 

Well I pulled the trigger on a 2009 blue r3 yesterday. Bought it in Naperville and drove to STL this afternoon. So there is another new 8 owner in this town. I love the car it is so much fun to drive, reminds me of my s2000 I used to own when I didn't have kids. Now with the kids in the back this is the perfect drivers car I always wanted.
