I am new to this forum and checked out a couple RX-8 in the last few weeks, I love the R3. Does anyone in STL have a R3. I would like to get your opinion on the R3 vs. GT. I might be pulling the trigger on a R3 this weekend, off course I got to go to Chicago to buy, since there is not for sale anywhere near STL.

I don't know of anyone around with an R3. I think pretty much everyone has either and 04 or 05.

 

R3 comes with alot of upgrades that our cars do not have that fixes a ton of problems. a big one is the transmission. so r3 is a safer buy i do prefer the cosmetics of the gt's. but comsetics is all personal preferences so R3, a amazing rx8=)

Speaking strictly of the series 2 cars (2009+), the main differences between R3 and GT trims are suspension upgrades and Recaro seats vs. moonroof and navigation option. The R3 also comes with 19" wheels and no AT option. If you're more inclined towards creature comforts, get the GT. If you want a sportier feel through stiffer suspension and a seat that will keep you in place, get the R3.

I do not know anyone local on the board with a series 2 RX-8.

 

BTW anyone thinking of going to teh VEGAS rx8 meet this year??

Hello my awfully quiet Saint Louisians

 

Hey guys just wondering whats the mods people do to their Rx8 (or any car really) that you guys think is just god awful? Here is a short list for me (sorry if any of you guys have these mods I am sure they look good on yours...lol):

neon interiors
fuel doors different colors than their car
tall spoilers
agressive drop in front with no drop in back
spoiler like things on roof
very odd paint schemes...like green blue and grey or something like that.

ha ha worst pet peeve ever for cars, has to be puttin some 24's on a car that is worth less than $1,000. I mean i dont even think it looks that good when the car is in decent shape. But i about got out the 8 the other day to throw a rock through some explorers window because he has some huge *** rims on his explorer and could only turn the steering wheel about 2 inches so he was the only car to make it through the light at about 2 MPH.

after that would have to be people who try to race me in any car. I seriously had a explorer pull up next to me the other day and try and race me. So i talked a big game acted like i was gonna race i mean i even went as far as pullin out my wallet and sayin we should race for money (YES i love messin with people), called the guy in front of his girl for bein a dumb *** then as soon as the light turned green he took off to race and i just drove off normally...ha ha DUMB *** like im really gonna waste my time and run the risk of losing my license to race an explorer!!!

if you have an agressive body kit or body mods im not always against the tall spoilers.

 

i am not saying those mods annoy me every time i see them..sometimes they can look very good but more often than not I do not like them. has anyone seen any "themed donks" by this i mean something like this

one of the football players up here (William Moore now a SS for the Atlanta Falcons) had a Mizzou themed Bonneville, wasnt as crazy as some but his looked pretty damn good. Maybe thats just the Mizzou fan in me talking. But thats the only one i've ever seen in person outside of car shows.
