Well, they say Miller High Life is the champagne of beers. I think I might come out to the autocross Sunday at Gateway. I have a feeling I will probably just be a spectator though. We'll see how my weekend plans out.

 

Oh and I actually need to change tranny and diff oil, that's a brief project i wouldn't mind help with

 

Definitely doable. I've done mine twice and modena's done his once. It's a relatively quick process... but a messy one. We need to make a list of projects and get busy with them. We might as well do the oil/tranny stuff on the same day so we can make a caravan trip to the parts store to dump the nasty stuff. Modena unfortunately got stuck with my gunk last time because I forgot to take it with me. Hopefully he'll forgive me enough to offer his garage again as long as we promise to clean up after ourselves.

3 (Water, me, and Fisher?) oil changes
1 tranny change (fisher)
2 sub boxes (chico, me)
wiring my footwell lights and installing switch

Has anyone considered going to Mazda Zoom-Zoom live? Looks like the nearest is Chicago in October. We signed up, but do not yet know if we are going.

Yeah, they came out of nowhere. I can't remember a time that the storm traveled from North to South around here. Very odd.

 

Speaking of projects, I have been wanting to attempt the 30,000 mile service myself. How about that for a project? Some of the items on the list are already completed. Let me know if that isn't too much. Also, still got the flame thrower kit to finish up.

 

Sounds like we're planning the rest of our summer!

 

I just passed 30k too, but haven't checked the manual as to what it entails, though i was at the stealer yesterday who just recommended the tranny and diff. I thought everything else is at 35k...?

 

Just wanted to post to see if anybody wanted these items before they went up to ebay. Sold the 8 and don't need them anymore. Yup thats right the eight is gone. Just make me an offer....

OH NO!!! We lost the one girl who knew what she was doing with an RX8. Sorry to hear the sad news Katie.

I have a whole list from the stealer (man, I love that term) of what is needed for the 30,000 mile service. I plan on showing up at Gateway this weekend. We can talk about it more in depth there.

 

Is there anything I need to do at 15,000?

 

Yeah i'm lookin forward to gateway sunday, i am goin on saturday night so i might be in rough shape. Also, i'm at 31k on my stock tires so they're probably about as hard as stone... hope they do me well.

 

Lol, I have been out many an evening before a race. Just drink plenty of water before you head to bed and have an aspirin or ibuprofen. NO EXCUSES!!!

 

I suggest at least 35-40 oz of water and two excedrin. That always seems to work for me.

 

Can you claybar your stock rims? I still have some cone on them after trying to scrub it all off last night
