Official Chicago/MW Dyno Day
Please tell me someone is bringing a decent video camera? And will share the vids?
I am bringing my camera and will have plenty of pics to share. We need a way to share pics because I know someone else will have better pics than me.
Ideas?

Jeff's plane was delayed about an hour but he is safely on the ground and checking into the hotel. After that they are on their way to my house to see if we cant get my car running better.
I can bring my camera and video camera. My brother in law will be with me and he takes awesome pictures.

I have a possible last entry person. He will be coming from Toronto Canada... what are his odds of getting on the dyno.
He wants an MM tune and has bought the AP from MM... handle = RX8Thunder

^ That would be me. Also need some sways installed. If Charles has flywheel and clutch with him, I could go for that as well. Don't want to drive 8 hours tho unless I know I can get a tune. Anybody know for sure if there is room?
Lol but you better leave now and step on it
I will be heading over there in less than 2 hours to check out the POWAH that is a dyno day!!!
Hopefully I'll be able to drag some people to the lakeshore meet for a nice cruise
Putting camera in the car now so I can grab some pics for those who aren't local.

^ ehhh we didn't even run....we have some shitty things to get worked out so you didn.t miss it haha. But, hopefully my new wastegate will be in this week sometime and then I can get on the dyno. Performance will be videotaping it and it will be on youtube. So, then you all can see.
That MS3 pulled really hard. I am definitely getting the turbo itch... even though both turbo 8's weren't running well yesterday

I had a good time, look to see yall at more meets this summer.
I have the photobucket account setup. PM for the username/pass for it. URL is www.photobucket.com/mazdarx8club
FYI Mustang Dyno was used. All the cars did runs with the AP only so no base #'s are known. Except for me since MM went back to stock after my first run to check some issues with my AFR had. Most of the MT NA 8's ran b/w 175 and 177 WHP. Better results were seen from the nitrous 8 and the ported 8. I won't say what they got, I'll leave it up to them. As for me my stock run had 164 HP and my AP run had 174. So that is a 10 HP increase with the AP. Pretty happy with the results. All in all it was a great day, Just sad that the big boys were not running right. Maybe next time
As usual the RX-7's broke before the meet
(runs and hides)

I made 158 with exhaust only. So all the AP guys dynoed around 15 hp more than me. My graph is real bumpy though. I'm at 50k with original coils plugs and wires. Looks like I need to replace all these.
Dyno Sheet NA vs NOS
I was the second last dyno of the day and time was running short.
So I'm sorry I don't have a before and after dyno for the AP.
However I've owned the AP for a month or so and following Mazdamaniac's instructions I was pretty much dialed in already. Jeff made some corrections both for the NA driveablitly and for my N2O setup. The tune feels great.
During the day I also had the pleasure to work with CRH while he installed my Progress Tech sways and his BHR radiator. Thanks Ray it was great as always and I hope we can arrange a Detroit meet this year. Special thanks to Alneilson who assisted Ray the installation while I stood around with my thumb up my ***.
So here's the poop:
First run NA on Jeff's AP tune
Second run was using the spray, 92 Octane fuel, N2O Tank pressure 840 psi, 55hp Wet Shot, nitrous activated at 4000 rpm.
Not trying to make excuses but there is a significant difference in performance when the tank pressure is 950psi.
Sorry I don't have a scanner available to me at my hotel, so I took a pic with my camera. (both pics are the same dyno sheet, just trying for a better pic)

Tell me do you see flames at the end of the vid?
Ray is going to kill me for saying this,
Ray's car was the last one on the dyno (after mine). ..... .... enuf said

Anyone who was at the dyno day and would like to join EVOLV-Chicago to be updated on upcoming meets/events, please send me a PM and I'll get you all signed up.
Nice to have met all the new people!

This makes me sad. If I had it all over to do again, I would have done none of them and went straight to a N2O/TC/SC setup. With the exceptions of the Cobb AP, RP Supercat and the BHR Radiator which have obvious reasons why you would want them for a FI setup.
- SR UDP
- RB Flywheel
- RB Revi Intake
- RM Ram air intake
- Zex nitrous wet kit
- BHR Radiator
- RP Supercat
- ACT Clutch
- MSD 9.5 mm plug wires
- Redline MT 90 Trans
- RP Max Gear Diff
- Progress Sways
- Cobb AP (Tune by MM)
- TB coolant bypass mod
- Crankcase vent mod

It was really nice to see and meet everyone last weekend. Always nice to put the faces with the handles. Also had fun on the cruise...it was nice to meet you guys. Had some good times on the cruise back to the burbs...I don't think theres a spot of carbon left in my engine. ;-)~
