I won't be able to make it this time. I'll be up at the lake cabin doing my firework show for the family. I convinced my parents to spend over 500 dollars on fireworks this year.

my clear bra experience near twin cities

always said i would never buy another black vehicle, the front of my truck looks like salt-n-pepper, but ended up getting a black 8 and now i want to save the nose. if anyone has an installer related opinion i'd like to hear the story.

thanks all!
just sharing my clear bra experience so others may benefit. in may i had a 3M clear bra installed on the hood, mirrors, front fenders, and front bumper of my black 8 by Susan at Auto Images of White Bear Lake (she is the owner, only employee, and has over 15 years working with 3M clear bra film). She uses roll stock, not a pattern and i watched her work (very professional, stripped wax first with dawn, used appropriate tools and fabrics on the car) - pretty detailed stuff. the hood and fenders turned out pretty well, but for $500 i am less than pleased about the bumper and mirrors: there are wrinkle/kink marks within the plastic, bubbles scattered around the bumper near more intricate curves, and in one location the plastic peeled back and bunched. maybe i expect too much? i don't think so.

the blemishes in the film are difficult to see unless you go looking for them, and I must admit I am happy to have the paint protection - I might even do it again, but would probably look for another vendor. i have called the installer about it and she offered to take a look, trim, and try to fix, but after a couple more of my calls to get it done has yet to actually do it (2 months now assuming no extenuating circumstance on her end). i am not a common poster of complaints, just giving my review of one service provided so others can make informed decisions about their cars.

Anyone want Hymee exhaust?

Hello,

Well, I install turbo in my car and end up installing a larger dia exhaust. I have Hymee exhaust put up for sale for folks that live in and around the twin cities/St. Paul area in MN. The exhaust is in excellent condition. I never drive my car in the winter so it never see salt. Exhaust sounds great. It has to mate up with the stock B-pipe (pipe between mid pipe and muffler) which I also have. Price is $300. This is a stainless steel verison. New cost $850 or so.

PM me if anyone interested. If you want to hear the sound go to this link on youtube.

Thanks.

Just an update from a fellow Minnesotan.

This is my freshly finished build.

https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=194

I am the Head Engineer/Owner of Esmeril Racing and we are in Minnesota. We only manufacture parts (no install facility) but I am happy to meet with anyone that wants to come look at my car and any of our products.

I live in Plymouth, pm if you want to meet.

Best regards,

Chris

August 24th All Mitsu Cook out invitation in Rogers.

http://www.mn3s.org/cookout-list.html

To see many exotic engine bays:
This cookout in Rogers is an annual gathering of all DSM/ Mitsu 3000GT cars with half that are FI_ Chris_ could be a good place for advertising a business for F.I. set ups It would be fun to see a group of RX8's there.

Does anyone attend the MN Sport Compact bi-weekly group in the Twin Cities area? I think they often meet up in Plymouth.

Here is a first Saturday of the month, a morning Cars and Cafe event.
http://www.automotorplex.com/
They also host car club car shows and events.
