As a new owner, I just wanted to throw a out there! I've had my 8 for almost a month now, but have only had the chance to drive it for the first two weeks!! Snow argh!!!

If anyone is planning on a meet in the early Spring, be sure to post it up.

Have a great weekend everyone!

No kiddin' I can't believe how much snow we got.

There is some talk of doing a Duluth, North Shore trip this Spring.

It will be a full day meet.

I was thinking of getting a cabin or camping up there.

Does anyone know if 4th of July weekend is before or after it since it falls on Wednesday? (That isn't when it is going to be planned just came to mind since I remember taking the weekend after July 4th off this year).

Right on, that sounds like a good time. It's pretty scenic up there on a nice day!

The gas mileage is taking some getting used to though... heh, it'd probably take a few tanks worth to go up and come back

Auto Xing would be a great thing to do.

For those that aren't aware we encourage creative ideas for meets. We have a forum on www.mnrx8club.com as a place to pool them.

All meets we have get posted there and there is normally a planning thread for each of them, input is welcome.

Oh and for the meets we spend a lot of time on or have a great place to be we send out an informational email to communicate them as well. So when you sign up on www.mnrx8club.com shoot either Truemagellen or me a pm with your preferred email so we can add it to the mailing list.

Hey CiDsRX8,

I work in bloomington right off of Old Shakopee Rd and Normandale Blvd. I live in Plymouth though...kind of a drive. The only red 8 that i have seen in the area is on 169 going North in the morning usually around 645am. I haven't seen it this year yet. But, i did see it a lot last year. Maybe its you.

I occasionally see a Red 8 in Bloomington.. usually coming from BIG on 98th toward 35W. I live near 90th and Portland.. there is a Yellow 8 about 2 blocks north of me. (I've got a gray 8 w/ the rear fog-light.)

Basically it's a bright red light that shines backwards to allow other cars to see you easier in heavy fog. It fits in the rear rotary accent of the black part of the bumper.

http://gate.crashing.org/~fray/Rear%...res/Page1.html

The pictures at the bottom of the page show what it looks like. (And yes, it is as bright as it looks in the pictures!)

It's a part sold in pretty much the rest of the world except the US. It's not "illegal" in the US, but then again it's not explicitly legal either. A few states have specifications for a rear-fog light.. MN does not.

So it would be officers descretion if it's "excessive" lighting or not (when it's on).

Hey guys and gals I am hosting an impromptu meet at my place this Friday at 4:15pm.

Bobby got his Hymee exhaust installed recently and we are going to catch a few clips of it and get some food and drink at one of the local restaurants in Blaine or one of the surrounding cities.

Here is the link on MNRX8club.com: http://mnrx8club.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1220#1220

Let us know if you can are going to make it out.

We'll be catching some video of the Hymee exhaust with midpipe and then we are going for food.

If you want we could wait for you before we go for food and drinks.

We could settle up on the return oil line as well.

Good thing I have closed circuit monitoring 24 hours a day, recorded and backed up offsite continuously through my various connections that I will not disclose because one of them is bound to be overlooked.

And the turbo parts are carefully spread around the house and garage so that it would be impossible to get the entire kit.

Besides the parts you nab might be the spare junk kit that I have as a decoy.

Sighting::
Hey, I ran into a Silver RX-8 (TLA-***) last night with no front license plate . Anyone in here rock out this vehicle?

Gripe::
After getting ticketed for tint just 4 days after installing it, I am worried about taking off my front plate. Ug, the last thing I need is a half-dozen fix-it tickets......then again, all cars look better without that flat piece of metal out there.

I'm rocking with no front plate but that isn't the beginning of my plate number.

Glad it wasn't mine because it is about the dirtiest it has ever been

Hi MNShinka,

How dark was your tint? Now I'm worried I might get a ticket also. My tint is dark..

15 more HP before reaching 300...now I'm broke, then again I got it for free, after i high jacked it....
3 more month before going twin turbo.

I have 35% black tint all around; honestly though, it is not that dark in comparison to half the cars I see out there. You can see clearly see the occupants inside during the daytime (got pulled over at 4pm), although at night it is a little different. I used to sport 30% in my 2000 Celica for four years and never got hassled, even when I had been pulled over for speeding or doing something stupid. Weird.

A person can have darker than 50% tint if they have a medical exemption which requires it.
