well myrx-8 this weekend there is a fre concert at memorial park on friday- it is free to celebrate omaha's 150th birthday the band 311 will be playing there because I guess they are from here. then this weekend there is a chrysler auto show, anybody else know of anything>?

Hey all, Have fun without me. I have to work on Tuesday until 7 and then I am on emergency call. I can tell you from experience I never get out on time. Enjoy the pizza and company. Let me know what you all decide. Sounds like it should be a good meet.

 

Well whenever I plan on doing something I want to do something always comes up I was informed today that I will be on a flight to Virginia on Monday and probably won't be back until saturday or sunday. There are positives to working for the government and then there are the negatives like this. Most of the time I like the traveling aspect because the service center directors of the sites always take us out for a good time around town. But this time I was really wanting to meet all of you and get this going. Sorry for my absence but I will make the next one. If I get called up to go out of town during our next meeting I will pull the malaria or west nile card Have fun without me though and let me know how it turns out. If anyone has a digital camera take some pics too and post. Already feeling left out....darn work, if only money was not needed!

HOW ABOUT THIS TIME EVERYONE WRITES EVERYDAY THAT THEY CAN MEET NEXT WEEK FOR SURE- then we can correlate>? otherwise, I don't have much time to waste on this I will be at the carshow tomorrow night if it is not raining. I will pry not bring the 8 though as she is having some secret stuff done to her- I eagerly await seeing your 8 though brent maybe some of us could talk there- OH!!! remember how someone mentioned midwest mazdas???? well there was a yellow protege there last week (at the car show) that was all decked out and they had a big sticker across the windshield that said "midwest mazdas" so they make appearances

 

I'm not sure of Midwest Mazda's membership numbers...from the forum site I saw them on, it appears they have somewhere within 15-20 members, but imo, the dues they have set currently are quite steep. They have an initial fee of $30 and a monthly $15 fee, or $10 for those involved in 'administrative positions' of the club. They sound like they have fair aspirations, and I believe the Pres has headed at least one car club in the past, but I still have yet to meet up with any of them, and at that rate the membership dues would probably be out of my reach in terms of what I'd be able to put in and get out of the club. But who knows.


I haven't heard about any meetings scheduled within the next couple of weeks - they're trying to get a paintball event going on a weekend in mid-August it looks like, but not a whole lot of details yet.


Next week I'm not sure how open I'll be for a long lunch since my co-worker/assistant is on vacation. I might be able to slip out though...otherwise, tuesday, thursday, and friday evenings are generally bad for me.

 

Well checking in from Virginia here Work sucks but the little lady said it was pretty hot at home. But any of the options you all have mentioned looks good to me. I probably wont be back in Neb. until sat night or sunday next week, the 31st. The people here have messed things up so badly that it is making me stay an extra week. But like I said I am easy going and would be up for anything. Everyone take it easy and have fun at the car show you guys.

Somebody one street over in my neighborhood just bought a silver 8 -- that makes 3 in the neighborhood so far -- I should be getting a commission on these -- told my wife that if I see too many more 8's on the road I would have to buy a Ferrari :D

And I agree that MAZDA needed a more "responsible" presence there that night. Other than some riced out Miata's and a converted FB and FC. LOL, it started to get embarassing. Now I know how an NSX owner feels at a Honda show. :o

 

Being the lincolnite I am what is this car show you guys are talking about? I originally thought it was a 1 night deal but it sounds like a weekly thing. If that is the case maybe I will try to roll up there and help represent us My 8 isn't too tricked out yet, got to save the cash up, but I figure by Feb. I will have enough for what I want to do. But let me know either way, I can at least wash her up good and park next to you guys.
