Anybody from IA or NE
Would be more than happy to. Be nice to get something going here, $20 bucks a peice isn't much to put up. I definately think it is worth it for part of the proceeds to go to sponsor this forum.
we don't have to join the colorado forum- we are all still on the fence in that area I believe. and as far as sponsoring this forum, just do a group buy!
(just poking fun all might moderators!!!) but in all seriousness- maybe we could all get together soon to have some decisions made outside of lunch- then maybe we could get bigger results people-wise>? ....................................

I am game! either tomorrow night after the car show (or at, as long as it doesn't rain and there is one) or anytime this weekend other than sunday night or I am also available next tuesday or wednesday night>????????
monday and thursday my wife volunteers for a crisis hotline (she is a psychologist) so I am solo with my girls those nights- If there is no other time I deem this important enough to bring them to clancy's with me
Welcome to the newest member
Saturday will be difficult for me as I work until at least 3. (usually til 4 or later is not uncommon). I am curious to any ideas (new or revisited), but reguardless a local group is a must imo. I say lets do this and get ready for the football season, a measly month and a half away. :D

Well I am in Lincoln and I usually work until about 3 in the afternoon, sometimes longer on Tuesdays. Thursdays work best for me, but really any night next week works for me. Would be nice to see if we can get more people there to discuss it besides us 4, unless we are the only ones
Just name the time and place and I will be there withstanding some odd change of events in which case I would let you all know. Glad to see the wheels turning!

I'm in Minneapolis til Monday -- sorry.
I am usually very flexible during the day (benefits of owning your company) -- but not available in the evening (benefits of being a dad). Maybe something right after work -- maybe a Wed. during/before the car show on 84th Street.

For me just depends on location and time. The earliest I can be to west Omaha during the week depending on traffic is no later than 4pm, being conservative just in case there is a wreck or they have some part of I-80 all messed up like usual. I work in downtown Lincoln right accross from the stadium so if I leave straight from work at 3 I should be able to make it by 4. Any other day than Tuesday probably can make it by 3:30. Tuesdays I have a meeting that can run anwhere from 2:30 to 3 or 3:30 and it always seems like when I want to get out of there is when it runs to 3:30
But I am flexible so you guys decide, but if I am coming up to Omaha can I make a suggestion on location? Big Freds pizza, every time I come up, there is this unexplained pull on me to go there, I love the pizza, it is the only thing I miss about living in Omaha!

Hopefully we can get a few more people in on this, would be great seeing big freds parking lot full of 8's, I think it would be a nice view! And time works for me as well
By the way my name is Jason so we don't all walk into big freds calling each other by our screen names.

Big Fred's is good stuff. I live about five blocks away

Unfortunately on Tuesday nights I have hockey practice at 8pm (and generally leave at 7pm, since it takes me so long to slop on all that goalie gear). Don't know if I'll be able to make it. I want a minutebook recording of the meeting

I've been chatting up with the Nebraska guys on my 3/protege forum...there's a small/relatively new group called Midwest Mazda on there with 10-12 guys/gals. I mentioned the RX Husker club - they urged me to invite the 8s to their events since they're a "mazda driver" club. I'm not sure of the average age - the two front-runners eclipse me in their 'middle-age'. I don't know if I'd join up or what with my schedule, and you guys are even more busy than I, but I might keep an eye out for their events and relay here.
Oh, and ran into the SCCA guy I know the other day, talked briefly about a few up-and-coming events nearby. He mentioned a track day in Kansas this month (maybe this weekend, it looks like? He said he really likes the track...) and a few solo II events on the horizon. Here's some relevant links:

The track day sounded very tempting but I'll a) probably be busy and b) don't have the $130 or whatever it is to throw down right now :/ I might look to hit a solo II event while they're still going though...

Hi all. I don't currently have an 8 but drive an FD 7... so I'm not sure how welcome I'll be. I just thought I take the opportunity of this thread say hi and see if there are ever any "Rotary" meets in the area. I'm in Bellevue (Omaha) and have seen a few RX8s around, just haven't had the chance to ask anyone in person.
