You all have been very busy. Thanks RxHusker for the link, and big thank you to our brethren in the mountains.

Kain, I dang neared spilled my coffee reading some of your posts, and where I come from that is a criminal offense. Thanks for the comic relief.

D'oh, I had to stay at work to be on a conference call. How were the breasts? ...err, I mean, wings?

And there was even another open spot in the lineup

Wow guys, looks like a nice little mini-meet! Is one of you going to throw up a little photo album on the RMRX8C website, to get the Nebraska contingent represented?

Actually, you guys would be a regional chapter of the RMRX8C. Your own forum on our site (which you already have) plus a regional director to help you guys organize your own events, but still under the club banner. All that remains to make this happen is to sign up for membership... details on our website.

I got lunch yesterday at Runza for my two kids, wife and myself for $20 :p

I think for the club membership of $20 we support providing the website, marketing materials (decals, cards, brochures, etc.), club event planning, event give-aways (IGOZOOMZOOM was pretty pleased with the Borla and other goodies he won at the first club event), club administration and possibly some funds provided for regional meetings/track days.

$20 seems pretty nominal to me for club dues -- I used to pay a lot more than that to belong to RX-7 Club (back in the day when 1st gens ruled the road :D )

Actually, you get quite a bit for $20. This info is here on our site. But in short:

Membership costs $20/year and includes:
  • A spiffy Rocky Mountain RX-8 Club membership sticker list this one, in a color to match your car
  • Access to members-only, private forums on our website
  • Picture hosting space on our website
  • Participation in RMRX8C group buys on cool stuff
  • Exclusive club discounts for club members
  • Eligibility for prizes at our annual meet raffle (Check out this year's list of AWESOME prizes, here)
  • A private XYZ@rockymountainrx8.com email address if you need it (subject to availability)
  • Access to tools and equipment purchased by the club or made available by other club members for use, such as the OBDII-CanScan tool, CanZoomer programming kit, etc.
  • Access to club member only apparel
  • And of course, TONS of fun!

Club dues are used for things like the following:

  • Paying for the website and domain
  • Club promotional materials, such as business cards, fliers, and stickers
  • Purchase of tools for use by club members, such as the OBDII-CanScan tool, CanZoomer programming kit, etc.
  • Event supplies
  • Partial coverage of track fees, if we ever get enough in the club's coffers
  • A $1,000,000 annual salary for the club's president, vie president, and secretary/treasurer.
  • A $100,000 annual salary for the club's regional director
  • Ok, just kidding about those last two! :D

Okay heres my concern... We spend the money to join the Rmrx8 club and get some pretty darn good benies for the cost However, if we decide to have any local events all financing comes straight out of our pockets, unless we do a second club dues fee for the local chapter only (that and our membership at this point will be a bit on the limited side if attendence at our lunch meetings is any indication)
Just my $0.02. Stay cool all.

Well you guys can count me in The bald alopecia boy driving around in a black 8 in Lincoln Sounds like a good time to me, we could all meet up at each others respective stomping grounds on husker/wildcat gamedays have a little mini rally, eat some food, drink some beers and just have some fun. But if any of you nebraskans want to start something count me in. I got pleanty of time at work to organize stuff and such. Being an Operations Analyst doesn't consume a whole lot of my time...well it could I just choose it not to
