Calipers and such look much better.
Get the wheels and tires mounted yet?
Once they're on, we can do a shoot if you want. Just let me know when and I'll rent a couple lenses again. If anyone else is interested, let me know. We can get some shost together from the ky side with the Roebling and downtown in the background like I did with my buddies GT3 and Z4M.
Mazdax3 - Maybe we can collaborate and i can learn something from you.
we can also try to get some rolling shots. The Taylor-Southgate bridge might be coole, or the Big Mac

Throw out some weekend dates and lets see if we can get something planned. Early AM or early PM gets the best light. I hate shooting at midday.
Sounds like a great idea. I have a couple weeks of travel coming up. Really, most of Sept looks packed with a trip to Las Vegas (work related, really) and then vacation in SoCal. I'm hoping to get to Mid-Ohio for the Rolex, but I'm trying to figure out if I can get there with work getting in the way.

I have a wedding the second weekend of september and hopefully I'll be at Mid-O as well. I think after those two weekends, i'm free aside from moving, but i haven't set an exact weekend and it probably won't be until mid/late Oct. anyway.
I'm game for a morning or an evening shoot on Oct. 1st. An evening shoot could turn into a night shoot as well if we want it too. I don't have any lighting for a night shoot though.
So sign me up.

I should be up for it as long as it's not halloween weekend.
If anyone wants to help me paint my calipers too, it'd be greatly appreciated. I've been wanting to paint mine for a while now, but other things have taken greater precedence.

I'm not back from vacation until Oct 7, so anytime after that for a shoot works for me.
As for caliper paint, I used G2 . I got it from Tire Rack. Stuff works great. Just make sure you pull all your wheels, clean up the calipers good, and get it done quickly. This stuff sets up fast. Don't think about retouching it the next day. Once you put in the activator, any leftovers (and you will have a lot left) has already set up in the can. From what I read, it's more durable than hi-temp spray paint from Duplocolor. I wish I went with red instead of black, but I didn't want to be too Audi-like.

That following weekend will work for me. I may be able to squeeze in the 15th as well. After that, i'll most likely be moving and won't have time until November. I may already have the car put away for the winter once november hits, depending on the weather.
Same process as the front, with the exception of the caliper's piston is a screw type instead of a floating type. All this means is that you'll have to push in and turn the piston to get it all the way back in the caliper. The cube shaped caliper piston tools work fine for this.
At least the Reds make it interesting even though Drew Stubbs needs some glasses.
Who cares. I don't fault the players on the Bungels, but Mikey Boy pisses me off. He doesn't care if he sells out since he still gets his cut. I'm glad I don't live in Hamilton County and have to pay for his stadium. If I ever needed an attorney to negociate a deal, I've have MB at my side, but I'm sure he'd have his left hand in my pocket fishing for my wallet.

Back to cars, does anyone know if the RX-8s are going to be back in Grand Am next year? I heard they were gone and now they're back. Even though the 8 is dead, Pontiac was running in GT for a year or so after their demise.
I'd hate watching Camaros, Vettes and BMWs being the only thing out there. Let's keep our flamethrowers running!
One for a preview for Mid Ohio although this one was at VIR.
Changing my cars, oil, tranny and diff fluid this weekend!!
Oil: Pennzoil 5w30
Tranny: Motul 300 75w90
Diff: Redline 75w90
I will check my filters and battery to see if I can charge the battery.
I will be doing all this at my old job first thing Saturday morning. Buckeye game starts at 9am our time so I will get to my old job at Acura North Scottsdale prolly around 7am to get everything done and I get a free car wash so after that is all said and done, the car will be in the garage rest of the day sat, sun and Monday since its suppose to be around 110 degrees all weekend.

question about the rear brakes...
When I retract the piston back with the brake piston tool, should I only go so far as to line up the pins on the back of the pad, or should I back it all the way down and not worry? This is my first time doing rear discs, and I have heard conflicting answers to this on the forum? Please Advise.

I'm interested in TIIs as well, at least the engine side of it.
I expect to be home around 07 October so I might be up for a photo shoot. It will depend upon how far afield I am permitted to go so soon after arriving home. Don't worry, I'll bring the 8!
In other news, the Miata just got quicker. I picked up a used MP62 supercharger setup complete with 10 psi pulley and intercooler. Just have to buy a Megasquirt once the bank account recovers.
