I can't remember how much it was, but it seemed reasonable to me. Keep in mind that I have 15" wheels on the Miata. I'd say give them a call and see what they can do for you. Telling them I sent you (mention I have the neat Miata) might not help but it won't hurt either. Ask for the Hunter RoadForce balancing and tell them you want it as good as possible, Keith is their best guy from what I was told so that should make sure he does it.

I'm shocked that you found someone who used an actual torque wrench Steve. Most of them crank up the impact wrenches to "Move the Earth", have their air pressure at 300 psi and blast away. Makes it fun when you are trying to break things loose by the side of the road.

Chief, you have any excess Miata suspension parts laying around? I think my Miata is lacking in the suspension. Dampers feel a bit worn.

If anyone has clear corners they want to sell, or know of anyone that is selling them used, please let me know. Thanks

As a matter of fact, I do. The Bilstein PSS coilovers that came on my car are collecting dust the moment. As near as I can tell from the info I gathered they have about 50,000 miles on them (generally considered to be just broken in for Bilsteins). The ride is pretty nice, spring rates are low (progressive at 282/242 all around IIRC). I just wanted something more aggressive for autocrossing. You can set them pretty low if you like. Let me know if you are interested.

Let me pull the wheels off and see if there's a leak on the shocks. It's time for a tire rotation so I might get to it this weekend. No big rush since it's not like my wife notices the difference.

BTW, still no clue that I put the new springs on the 8.

Anyone you know locally that has one of these?

TurboXS catback and midpipe for $499? Too good to be true? Sounds pretty good on the YouTube video.

Good tone, but really, really loud with their midpipe. The catback alone, or with a quieter midpipe sounds great. With their midpipe it's louder than dan's car and far louder than mine.

Good quality for the price for sure. Everyone complements the welds and build from what i've seen.

Looks as though you all might have to see me sooner than planned. I'll know more once the new week rolls around.

Hey guys,

Just took off the Blizzaks and I am looking to sell them. I have 2 LM25's and 2 WS60's.

WS60's have about 6-7 32nds tread left
LM25's have about 8-9 32nds tread left

I am looking to get $200 for all 4 but just make me a reasonable offer because I would like these gone.

I was going to put these on the new car but I might go with a smaller wheel for the winter time. Not sure yet.

Thanks!

ps. I have pics..just PM me your number and I can text them to you.
pss..GO BUCKS!

Maybe. I bet it's been two to three weeks since she's been in the 8. I figure if I let it go 3-4 months, she'll forget the dB level.

Her hearing aids self adjust so maybe she'll not notice.

Anyone going to Fuel tomorrow if it isn't pouring down out? I'm going to see if by 9AM it looks decent before heading down.

New tires mounted on Forgestar's today. Car needs to settle a little after being up on jacks.

Looks good James.

After Fuel today, I drove all over the place and put about 100 miles on then came back home and washed/waxed the car. Nice and shiny now. Need to get more pics on Sunday. Maybe do some video too.

I'm jealous. That was a fun place (although a bit of a drive for me). Have fun!

James, I'm thinking those wheels would look mighty good on my Speed...Very nice choice, I don't think I've ever seen them on any car (but then, I don't get out much).

I was a little disappointed in the weight 48.2lbs as opposed to 46 for stock but the car actually rides better than stock, and has more grip, just not as much as the 285's but it is a good compromise. Steering feel is a little slower as well, but not bad. Just ordered 8mm spacers for the rear from Adam over at Mazdas247. I am debating 5 or 8 in the front yet. I will try the 8's on the front and see how it looks. Car looks a little funny right now all high but it's all for the aero stuff going on it. I also fixed my clunking front end problem in the right front, it was a loose wheel YIKES! Strangest thing happened this morning after I took it out, the left rear was measuring 25 1/2 to the ground! Looks pretty damn cool but I think it's time for new shocks
I got tires done at walmart $46. Got some clear corners as well. Car is going look a lot different soon, I hope.

I can't remember if I already asked this here, but even if I did as we have a few more new members maybe one of them will have an idea. I need to find places where I can get the following:

aluminum spacer piece machined
temp sensor bung welded onto thin walled stainless pipe
fuel hoses made up with threaded fittings

Anyone have any experience with machine shops/welders/hose places they can recommend?

I must be getting younger. I'm watching Formula Drift from Long Beach on DirectTV and I almost understand it. RX-8 didn't make it out of the top 8. Shame.

Didn't get any pics today of the shiny ROTA8. Shame.

James, 5mm spacers on front? A couple sheets of newspaper is about 5mm, isn't it?

^ I know it doesn't sound like much, but it's because of the tire height. I can't go much more than that. At +30 with this wheel/tire, I will start to get rubbing at the front fender around the welds, so I definitely don't want that. You will notice the 5mm difference in the front because they are almost flush now. I think it's all going to work out with 8mm all around putting me at 18x10 +34mm which will look really good.

I need some space too. I'd like the back be flush with the fender also. Did you buy these used or a group buy?

I was up in Dayton today and a older guy (younger than me) pulled up next to me at a light and was staring at my wheels. I looked over and he smiled and gave a thumbs up. Made my day.
