I would like to have a local meet sometime soon however it seems like a lot of people right now are kind of busy with schools, moving in a new house, cars in shops, etc , etc , ..
People come and go, I would like to see more people involved, I’ve seen tons of 8s driving around cincy and nky this past year however there hasn’t been much interest in getting together for a big meet and cruise.

I just bought a 2004 RX-8 back in September, and I would love to meet some other owners and maybe find some people to go to for advice, etc.

So I guess I'll just toss a short introduction out there for everyone.

I'm 24 and I moved to the Cincinnati area (SE side) in June. I work for an engineering software company up in Milford. It's a pretty good gig, and they pay me enough for me to afford my RX8

I'm not really into the street racing scene (or racing at all, for that matter), but I really do love cars and I really love to drive - even if it isn't driving fast. Not a day goes by that I am not glad that I decided to buy this car - even if there was 2" of standing water in my tail lights the other day!

I'm always up for meeting some new people (even though I am not very good at it), and I'm always happy to talk about just about anything.

I didn't have any plans to really do much work to my car...but then I come here and see some things and...well...we'll see!

Hopefully get a chance to talk shop (and whatever else) with some of you soon.

Finally found one at a good Price! It’s a 2004 silver rx8 with 67k miles and 6 speeds.

I am interested in meeting up with you guys and going for a cruise any weekend

 

I work for a small company called PARTsolutions. We do standard parts catalogs, part consolidation, native-CAD, etc. etc.

I won't bore you with the details :-P

Now that the weather is nice, I really hope we can get some people together, maybe do some wrenchin' and such.

Also, I own a nitromethane powered R/C monster truck if anyone else is into that hobby - I've been looking for some people to get together with on that too!

Hey guys, new owner. Just got it about a week and a half ago. New '07 RX8 to go with the fact that I just got a job here in Cincy. I'm up on the north side in West Chester. I'm not new to the area, actually came back here after I went to school in Indiana. I'm working for an engineering company over in Blue Ash.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say something about being here and I wouldn't mind a meet or something like that.

I don’t think anyone here is into street racing neither however we do have a nice group of hardcore car enthusiasts.

We have some members here with really nice 8s which love talking about their mods thus ask away haha

I am still going to Indianapolis on the weekend of the 19 (it is a major Mazda meet) anyone that has that weekend off feel more than welcome to let me know.

I would love to have a meet and cruise, but unfortunately I really don't know for sure what weekends I am available. My girlfriend lives in Chicago, so I am out of town a lot of weekends - but I have been traveling a lot lately so I am sure I will be around for some weekends soon.

I am free all weekends, just not at night since I work usually from 5-1030 on friday and sat nights..but hopefully that will soon change.

So who all is going to the meet up in Indy? I know I am in for sure! Hopefully my AF short throw will be there ready for me to pick up!

New Guys: Any mods coming for the cars?

 

No mods really planned for me - I might get some LED tail lights and might smoke my tail lights - but nothing major. I also like the look of the clear corners, but the price seems a bit steep to me still.

I need new tires too, but that isn't so much a mod as it is maintenance. I would also like to get a new exhaust, but they're all so expensive - and I shudder to think what I would have to pay to get it installed. Of course, maybe I can make some friends with people who could help...

Other than that, maybe a new intake or something - I am not really looking for turbos or anything like that.

Wheels would be cool too, I suppose, but again the cost is just so high that I am not sure it's worth it. Especially because it would mean buying new tires again.

 

Hehe sorry, I just bought the car like 2 weeks ago and didn't find the forum until a few days ago. I was curious about what could be done with the car so I came here.

I have to make sure I can pay the car off, pay rent, etc. before I start looking at mods for the car. I was kind of interested in intake and exhaust, nothing too extreme. Then there's always the philosophy of "added lightness". But yeah, gotta get finances under control first.

And now is the time to buy. Well March was, the dealers started giving some good deals. I had fun making a couple sweat since I drove a few 3-4 weeks before actually buying it. Anyway, yeah spring is coming so stuff like the 8's is going to start selling faster. That could help explain the influx of us newbies.

I know I'm not free the weekend of the 26th. Heading back up to Purdue to see my g/f and a Stephen Lynch concert . After that, whatever is good by me.

 

Yeap! the nice weather is back hence its time for the 8 mafia to come out and play!

Hey guys! I just got my 8 a little over a month ago. I am 23 and live in Middletown. My work schedule is kind of crappy I usually work on the weekends but I usually have Mon. - Thurs. evenings off. So if you plan a local Cicny or NKY meet I would try my best to attend. I would really like to meet other owners. I love seeing what types of mods people do to their cars, though mine is completely stock... for now.

 

yeah all of this sounds great! we should def have a meet somewhere near the cinci area..we would have a good turn out it looks like! and jus go cruising and what not! the drinks at the bar sound greatttt, except im only 19 so that sucks!

Damn! I go on a business trip for 2wks and return to see some new 8 owners. Awsome. Welcome aboard. I havent been really dedicated to the meets or the forum lately; busy working and traveling. Im down for the indy meet and the local one when everyone decides on the date.

Jeff I just got around to getting the reflectors out of my clear corners. What was that site you gave everyone for the LED replacement bulbs? I also what get LEDs for my fog lights. Do they have those too?

 

I just bought some LEDs from www.superbrightleds.com, and I've seen people recommend www.autolumination.com. They both seem to have a pretty wide variety of lights - but I don't know if they have LEDs for your fogs. Let me know if you find some though, I'd be interested!
