If anyone is willing to make the long trek to Dayton Senna is playing up there. http://www.neonmovies.com/
We just had Senna play for a short stint at the Kentucky Theatre in Lexington this past week. Great movie! It will still tell an amazing story on DVD, but seeing unedited raw early 90's F1 footage on a big screen with the theater surround sound was something else.
Lucy, I'm home! It was like Christmas going through the stuff I bought while gone. Already removed the oil filter relocation kit off the Miata (leaking hose) and took my stepdaughter to work. So nice driving a sports car top down again. I'll get my dose of rotary goodness in a day or so.
Welcome home Chief!
rzoops: I've already seen the longer non-us version, but it would be nice to see it on the big screen. Stupid *** theater keeps jerking around with it though.

Wow. The VRM looks great with the dark wheels. I've been thinking about grey wheels for my liquid silver at some point.
Saturday weather looks promising. High about 66 and partly cloudy. Heck, even a little moisture on the pavement would look good. Can anyone supply a water tanker? Hah!
OK, here's what I'm bringing to the photo op:
-both my cameras - (Canon 5D and 1D MkIII) you never know when one acts up.
- 24-105, 70-200, 17-40, 50mm (I'll leave the 400mm at home)
- 3 Canon speedlights (might not need them, but just in case we need some fill)
- carbon fiber tripod.
- stun gun and/or armed security agent (just in case, you never know) LOL!
I may bring a friend along for help.

My wife may wake her *** up and come with, but i won't hold my breath.
Quick detailing tips for the shoot.
1. Wash your wheel wells and spray/wipe some tire shine on them. Use tire shine on your tires, even if you don't like it. You want them to look black. They don't have to be glossy. Dirty wheel wells stand out like crazy in a picture.
2. Clean all of your glass. Nice clean glass makes for good pictures. Dirty glass shows. Bring some cleaner and clean them when you get there if you have to. It will make your car look 10 times better.
3. Bring some quick detailer and soft microfiber towels to clean off water drops or dust before we start. Downtown is always a mess, so you'll most likely pick up dirt and dust whether it's wet or dry.
Not detail related, but bring some cash. No real reason, but a just in case. Who knows we might see a spot that we'll need to pay for parking to get into. If we don't use it, you can all give it to me because i'm awesome.

Nice. I'll bring my tired but trusty d50, a 35mm, a 14-24mm (both rentals) my kit lens, and my 70-300(which will most likely be useless), my tripod, a monopod, a step stool (if it's still sturdy enough and i can find it) and probably a tv tray/table or two to set stuff on. I may bring my mac too if anyone wants to see the pics in semi real time. We'll see how much **** i can pack in/willing to carry at once.
My wife may wake her *** up and come with, but i won't hold my breath.

Gonna check the gear out now. Lots of batteries to charge and lenses to clean since the charity gig I shot a couple weeks ago. No cars, just people. You might recognize her from Channel 9 News.
My 70-300 is a Tamron and it's quite a good lens for the price I paid. I believe wide open is f4.5.
I really need to just buy the 35mm 1.8 that i rented again. I've almost paid for it at this point I think. Sharp, fast, great DOF control, and a pretty nice bokeh.
There's a lot of camera gear I'd love to have, but i don't shoot enough to really justify it. The more I shoot, the more I can justify it. Top of the list is a new camera and a good speed light.
One of these days.
edit: she's pretty easy on the eyes. It must have been a struggle to take pictures

I'll be there, and I'll bring my tripod. You will all just have to suffer with the Miata goodness (the wife has somewhere to be later on so she wants the 8).
And Kevin, I'll see what I can do about my wheel wells...

Don't discount the 70-300. Even with your 1.5x crop factor, the 100mm focal length isn't too bad if you back up some. It'll blur the background if you shoot with a wide aperture.

^^^ ugh, that might ruin everything. I'm sure the Longworth people would have let me know that they have that set up for tailgating though.
guess we'll find out when we get there.
