One of these days, when I can afford a rental, I will take my 8 in as I am sure the compression is well below where it should be! Good news for you though, I thought I saw your car parked at D. Dahle yesterday when I drove by!

I still have the hood, bose. You want it? $125 picked up, or $135 delivered anywhere in the valley. Still got my cell number?

I believe that ALL warranty replacements are remans. The only exception is if there are none in the pipeline, and the waiting time becomes excessive.

I will let you know for sure on Friday-Saturday, I do still have you number. I have a crazy idea in my head I'll need to take a good look at the hood and see if it's feasible.

I have wondered about my engines health for the last year and a half about. Mazda says I have low compression but I really can't understand how. Only thing I can surmise is they incorrectly performed the compression test, but I am going to find out when I install my plugs.

yes I looked at the clutch pedal bracket and it seems fine. took my car in today and they are replacing the master clutch cylinder under warrenty because my clutch pedal felt soft? and they are working on the rough shifting problem... in the meantime they gave me a impreza to drive for free, yay! good for the snow that is coming i guess :-). I used that redline tranny fluid before the last time they worked on it so it probably has the stuff they put in it now but I like the redline so I will put it back in when I get everything feeling right in the transmission.

Hey 04, did you say you're getting a light weight flywheel put in too? I hear our 8's benefit greatly from them. makes sense too.

Bose, do you have links to where you got your coils and plugs and what not from?

The BHR plugs and coils or the regular set up?
http://www.sparkplugs.com/results_ap...1&AAIA=1416844
^^^here is where I got my plugs, I just got the premium plugs.
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid=214264<<< Is where I got my coils, and they are cheaper now I paid 36 for each.

But you could try pm'ing one of the vendors here they may have better prices.
Also there is a spark plug group buy going on here:https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...plug+group+buy Looks like $75+shipping. for the set but it's ending soon so you would have to do it soon.

How light did you get the streetlight or prolight flywheel?
I can't decide which I want.

Don't worry your impressions will be plenty, I totally understand.
At least you don't have to drive the 8 in this crap weather.

Drift it in a nice open parking lot.

I can't decide which set of springs to go with, racing beat or tien h-techs. Leaning towards the racing beats, even though they cost a bit more.

Remember that it's aluminum, so if you want to mod it, welding will be tricky. It's thin. You'll have to use fiberglass.

I was going to mold it; (still might) and possibly make a custom hood down the road.

If you decide to buy it, let me splash a quick mold off it first. Won't hurt it a bit.

Just be sure you have a good set of fairly tall jack-stands, at least a pair of floor jacks or a tranny jack, and a good creeper. These cars are LOW...

Also, remember your driveline is CF. Don't damage it!

Bose, will he have to unbolt the engine to pull the tranny?

Yes, it will need to be unbolted from the engine, the driveline removed and the cross members, and with our special little car you have to buy a special clutch tool from Mazda, otherwise it's almost impossible to do.

JT I will let you know for sure very soon.
