they are probably too lazy to change the prices, at least I hope. That wouldn't be right charging high prices for stale gas.

I don't get on SLC Rotary enough, I didn't even know about the calender. that's my own fault. Glad you made the cut JT, my car isn't blingin' enough to be featured, you have the nice appearance package.

Naw, all I have is front and rear rotary accents, a rear spoiler, clear corners, and chrome exhaust tips- I don't even have strakes (yet)! I think the only reason I made the cut is because I shelled-out the bucks, lol. But I definitely have the newest car on the calendar, seeing as all those 7's are at least ten years old now...the FC's are 20! Man, time flies. I can't believe it's been 29 years since I bought my FB.

For some reason I thought you did, oh well. Awesome your car made the calender either way. Did anyone go to the car show this last weekend. There were some sweet rides for sure. The new 8 is pretty freakin' nice, the new seats are orgasmic. And they changed the dipstick location to a great spot and now it comes with a 4 point strut brace.

I'm glad I took the 8 out a few days last week since it looks like the dry weather is leaving for a while, so she's back on her carpet in the garage. I managed to burn-off a half a tank of gas and filled it back up with "dirt cheap" (compared to last summer) premium.

Even after almost 2 years, it still amazes me how a spin in that car just lifts my spirits. I always get moody and a little down in winter time, probably a mild form of Seasonal Mood Disorder, but the RX-8 is a surefire cure.

Only 5 more weeks until winter's back is broken.

Any bets on whether the ground hog will see his shadow on Feb. 2?

I agree with you JT, driving the 8 cure whatever ails me. I love getting in cockpit and revving it to all hell. Chirping the tires, ahh it is satisfying to no end.

He'd better see his friggin shadow or I'm going groundhog hunting.

I'm sure you meah that you hope he doesn't see his shadow...seeing his shadow means winter isn't over yet. Kind of backwards, if you ask me...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groundhog_day

Unless you ski or board, then I guess a person could want winter to continue...what a twisted thought...

Update

so my car is in the shop with the transmission ripped out on a table... they showed me second gear and it had a chip in it, so they are waiting for landcar to come out and tell them if they will cover it . Is there any way that the gear is chipped because the syncro's were not installed right the last time they ripped my baby apart and not because of the aggressive driving I do in my 8? I just hope I don't have to pay for this because I was really looking forward to putting those new rims on this summer .

Anyway, congrats on the calendar JT . I hope we get summer soon too I didn't get to board much this winter so I am ready for it to be over.

doesn't sound like fun at all bro. I'm don't know a lot about transmissions yet, so my guess is probably as good as yours. They better cover it, you don't drive any harder than I do and my **** hasn't eaten it yet.

Hey

. . . . Does your car have the Navi system? If so you have two fuses if I remember right. Just check your fuses, Otherwise run by the house tonight and we can take a look. . .

Also, Do you have the Bose? . . . And does it look just fine in the display or is it showing like every light on? Might be the radios stupid anti theft crap . . .

I don't know much at all about the audio part of any car. I barely use my radio anyway.

Everything looks fine on the dislplay and yeah it is the bose system. i don't really drive it in the winter.... i have driven it one time since like end of October haha. I though maybe it could be a fuse but didn't check...
and no i do not have the Navi system.

I was told that it might possibly have to be re-coded by the dealer thats why i asked that. i honestly have no idea what it could be haha.

Mine did that and I have the Bose system. It was the fuse to the factory amp. It powers all of the speakers. I would start there.

just heard from subaru and they said that landcar denied the repair.. the guy said that it was wear from racing lol, I hate landcar... if you ever buy from a dealer and they offer you a landcar warrenty, don't take it. So in case you didn't figure it out I picked up my 8 at the subi dealer in Sandy and they offered to give me a powertrain warrenty from landcar, subaru has been pretty good about service but they are slow, they tried to say that second and third gear are the most used gears but landcar sent out a second represenative to check it out and said "no go". A mechanic there named Carl is proclaimed to have worked for mazda for a few years before coming over to subaru but im not sure how much he really knows about the 8. Anyway I am weighing my options and am going to go look at it myself tomorrow, has anyone heard of taking the new transmission in the new 8 and putting it in the older version? Im sorry but I just don't like the new style as much... I just want the more reliable trans.

Talk to Sheldon @ Mazmart his screen name is Mazmart6 on here and see what they have. I'm pretty sure the 09 trans is a direct replacement, not sure on the cost but I think a few months ago he quoted someone like 2000 for a brand new 09 trans. Plus shipping. That is a tough break though, I know how you feel though seeing as I have no engine/powertrain warranty. Sorry to hear it.
