Had a great time Saturday. I'm going to invest into a helmet and try to start making it to the bigger events. But I must say riding with someone is all most as fun. Thanks for taking the Video! We put up some great times considering some of the other cars that were out there. Hope the July 4 Auto X event can happen. We still need to round up the 7's and take a drive. Well I'm not moving to WA. I all most got the position but the last applicant had 10 years of experience over me.. But I love NM so glad i am staying.

Hey Kewl,

I have no idea how all that went regarding keeping things going. My guess at this point is that no news is good news. I did see that several messages were transcribed and emailed to the board of directors and the pastor... I'm sure that made an impact.

Speaking of good news... Dudley did very well on his simulator training this week, so he'll be heading off for more training and will get to be moving into the copilot's seat of the 747's he flies sometime soon. Cool, huh?

That does leave me in charge for running the July 4th races though... the biggest problem will be getting the manpower out to run the races... being the big holiday that it is... I'm not 100% sure of what kind of manpower we will have available.

Btw, on July 1st there's an air show at Kirtland... http://www.kirtlandairshow.com/.

NMOcho, sorry to hear the job didn't pan out but I guess Albuquerque isn't all that bad of a place.

Stinger, that's a cool sequence... MD was pushing around that corner pretty hard. Impressive to see all that daylight under the tires.

Ocho sorry to hear about the job as well (but not, you are a heck of a nice and cool guy and we need more people like you here in NM).

NMOcho....just remember that while you didn't get this job, you gave them one hell of a good run at it. It took someone with 10 extra years of experience to edge you out.

Now since you and MD had such good times at the autox I'm going to attribute it to the tires you two have...that way I don't feel as bad about my driving. I will work on at least matching your times at the next event.

thanks all! It's nice knowing that I dont have to drive 1400 miles with my 3 cats to WA in the RX-8 too. LOL I do believe MD and I's tires did help.. The funny thing is I just got them rotated and balanced on tuesday after Saturdays race and the guy was giving me this look like what have you been doing with these tires.. LOL...

Cool Ocho we sure could use another color other than GREY!!! It would great to expand this lil circle (very lil circle) of 8's. Were you able to put the video back together I sent you of your runs? I bet you thought you were really haul'n *** out there till you watched the videos. It is amazing how our precption from inside to outside the car is.

BTW everyone, there is a huge car show this weekend in Los Lunas. It is the

Summerfest
2006
Car Show

There is- Wine & Food Tasting
- Art Show
- Carnival
- Bikes & Bands @ RIBS resturant (south of the the Y) - Valencia County's Largest Garage Sale (from the flyer)
June 9, 10, & 11

I am planning on going tomorrow and I thought it would be cool if there were some more 8's there as well. Let me know and possibly we can all cruise to it together. For those of you who do not know but Los Lunas is about 20 -25 mins south of ABQ. I will be out for the rest of the day so I will check back in and see if there is any one who is interested, just post what time you might be able to make it then we can arange a meeting point. I am attaching a map showing the Valencia "Y".

Auto-X results got posted on the church website today

http://www.hopeevfree.com/

I was the fastest of all the RX-8's ... until the second one went, hehe. Lots of fun and cool to see our little circle of 8's increasing at the auto-x.

I was going to post the invite, but I see that Jfro has taken care of it. Thanks! Last year was a great time, and Saturday should be even better. It would be great to have the 8's represented. Hope to see you all there!!

Also, we're trying to get an idea of how much food we need, so if you plan on attending, please rsvp. For details, follow the link above.

Bad news and good news. First the bad. Not closing on my house today... Good news is that I get to check out the nice cars, meet some people and enjoy the BBQ day tomorrow. I will do my best to wash my car as I have been doing some serious muddy road driving in it... taking the 8 where little has gone before... LOL... Anyway hope to see you all tomorrow...

Kewl

I see that you are going to the BBQ tomorrow. I was wondering if it would not be to much of a inconvenience would you mind helping me modify my fog lights? If so what would I need to get to do this mod? Thanks!
