Mazsport Rotary tuner and service - Have developed ECU for RX-8's

My car returns from a Mazsport Vacation (more like a bootcamp I hear)

Yeah, but in 9 months I can have a baby, and do so much more.. LOL Even though you asked Scott to fix the ingition, how long does that take? I would think 1 month seems like fair amount of time, and turbo install + tune would take 2-3 months at the most.. I could be wrong though?!

Dude, I am not going to repost the first post... go back to page 1. By fix the ignition, I mean create a new ignition system, resolve my melting of cats (see new mazsport midpipe), take a look under the hood... can you say clean? You are right... even with everything that they did, it should not have taken 9 months... but sometimes, when you want the best you gotta wait.

I could not find a tuner locally that I trusted to do the work on my car and resolve all the issues. What I got back for my patience, was a car with no issues. Had I taken it local, do you think they would have been able to resolve half my issues? Or do you think they would have been as thorough and when putting in the twin plate clutch... just known to call exedy and ask for a part they don't advertise? I doubt it, they probably would have just tried to slam it in with the stock mating parts and then say that is the way the clutch is supposed to be...

Yes, but I was just curious why it took 9 months. I would rather someone work on my car longer and do a better job, rather than something quick which would end up like ***. I'm sure slavearm is very happy with it, but like I said.. I was just curious as what was going on within 9 months, I originally just thought it was only a turbo install..

Alright, I checked out the first page and I gotta say that's a fair amount of work to be done, especially since they have other customer's cars to work on as well.. I got one question though about the "Dynamatted Passenger side floorboard to reduce noise/heat", does that stop or cut down the vibration from the exhaust system.

Actually,

It was to appease the wife and people who don't enjoy the sound of a T4 based turbo. I have the type I kit, which means the turbo sits right next to the passenger footwell. Turns out... turbos can get hot... so to help keep some of the heat out, and to mute a bit of the turbo sound (which I love by the way... how anyone could not like that is beyond me), they dynamatted the passenger firewall/floorboard area. IT seemed to help a great deal.

I'm in for any sound proofing and heat reduction inside the cabin.

Also please keep in mind there was no ignition solution before Mazsport figured this out. We've been waiting on one for about two years now. So 9 months was just what happened to be the amount of time left in the development cycle. It's not a trivial task and no one else (no even Mazda) has an upgraded ignition solution for the RX8.

I like Mazsport products but their service seems to be lacking. Too many stories here about slow delivery and missed dates.

Did they require payment up front, or did you offer?

Recent additions in staffing and tooling will eliminate delays in the future. I have spoke to your husband and made him aware of our progress. We will be prepared to deliver the vehicle very soon.

Scary! When I first started posting on this forum, all I heard about Mazsport was how great their products and customer service are. Lately, however, there have been a few stories of broken promises and long waits.
I have a GReddy turbo sitting in my spare bedroom right now, along with a Blitz boost controller, an Interceptor-X, and 3 AutoMeter gauges in the Racing Beat pod that are waiting to be installed by Mazsport. I talked to Betsey and Scott a few weeks ago and set up an appointment for the first week in June to do the install and tune. My wife and I are actually going on vacation in Clearwater that week while the car is in the shop.
Now I'm kinda scared that my car won't be ready after a week even though I was told they could do it in three days... And I REALLY need them to finish while I'm down there since this is my daily driver...

Thanks for the re-assurance! Scott, I hope you get to feeling better. I'm going to order a Mazsport CAI and Microtech Dash also. Do you have them in stock, or should I go ahead and order them now to make sure?

Doing a build run this week on the C.A.I. and Dash displays should arrive the end of this coming week. They do go quick, I would suggest ordering now to secure your spot, Scott Mazsport.net

No luck required, we have made some significant improvements on a product that already works very well and the owner decided to wait for ver, 2.0. Scott
